Texas Women University FALL 2016

Published

Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!

Okay thank you lexlonghorn!

Congrats on your acceptance guys! I am a J1 on the Dallas campus now and I am really enjoying the program! In response to a negative comment made earlier in this forum I would have to disagree. I already have a bachelors and a masters degree and the education I am receiving from TWU right now is top notch. From the facilities, clinical sites, to instructors I have nothing negative to say!

I would highly recommend taking Patho this summer if you can. Your workload next semester will be much less stressful if you do. This semester we have tests in Patho on Monday's and Concept's on Tuesdays (followed by two more tests the next week)-- so getting that out of the way will really help you! So thankful I took it before I started. Enjoy your freedom and relaxation now because your lives will be devoted to nursing school in the fall! :)

To those of you on the wait list, hang in there!

Also, you may want to check out this blog written by a former TWU student to give you an idea of what you are in for:

Thank you so much for this info! Can you tell us more about what to expect our first semester?!

Does anyone know about institutional scholarships? Do they let us know if we received anything prior to accepting admission if we have been accepted? Or is that something they notify us of after we have accepted admission?

I'm applying for Fall 2017 Weekend/Evening program. Can you tell me what your stats were? It's really hard to find any information on applicants in this particular program. Thank you in advance and congratulations!

Not accepted to Dallas campus, put on waitlist

4.0 GPA, 88 TEAS, no prev. bachelor's or TWU bump

I can't believe this smh.

Dude I'm right there with you. TWU bump is ridiculously strong. Based on some of the scores I've seen from accepted students with the bump, that literally was the deciding factor for them. I get that they're rewarding the students that stuck with them from the beginning, but dang.

Do you know if she will still receive the email?

I think she still does. If not, wait until tomorrow :)

For those that took their TEAS in Dallas, did you take it at a regular center or did you take it through a PSI center? For the longest time. I have not been able to find any center that is not PSI but now that I look on the ATI website, I see a few centers in Dallas for march only. any info would help. thanks

Yeah, don't search the ATI site. Type in PSI testing center Richardson in Google. That's what I did and I like their facility there. It was pretty chill. Why don't you like PSI?

I know. Still haven't been able to process it. I don't mean to discredit anyone but it's crazy how someone with a 2.9 gpa and 70-something TEAS gets in because of it. Apparently, applying multiple times also helps. I don't understand how a 4.0 and top 1% score on the TEAS gets waitlisted. It's rather insulting.

I've heard rumors that the bump adds 0.4 to GPA but it seems to mean guaranteed acceptance. TWU should be more open about how each preference is weighed and not be so nepotistic. I wish I was bigger than this but I can't help but to feel bitter. Hopefully we can still get in this cycle.

Did anyone with a prior bachelors degree get in with a TEAS score that is 74 or lower?

Hilarious hahahahahahaha some of you Dallas people should of applied to Houston...... It was a walk in the park for some of us to get acceptance. I got into Houston with a 3.8 GPA & 87 TEAS score plus I have a previous bachelor's degree. The TWU bump doesn't add anything to your GPA, it gives you extra points. It's all about the points.
