Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!
Hilarious hahahahahahaha some of you Dallas people should of applied to Houston...... It was a walk in the park for some of us to get acceptance. I got into Houston with a 3.8 GPA & 87 TEAS score plus I have a previous bachelor's degree. The TWU bump doesn't add anything to your GPA, it gives you extra points. It's all about the points.
Yeah I'm starting to piece that one together. However, Dallas really was my only option. I had to be within commutable-driving-distance (mainly because I'm trying to just cash flow college). The advisors at TWU Denton did mention that Houston was a lot easier to get into, but if I'm not let in via wait-list there's always next semester I guess. Congrats on your acceptance.
For those that took their TEAS in Dallas, did you take it at a regular center or did you take it through a PSI center? For the longest time. I have not been able to find any center that is not PSI but now that I look on the ATI website, I see a few centers in Dallas for march only. any info would help. thanks
I took the Teas three times. The first two times at PSI and scored in the 70's. The third time I drove to UT Tyler and scored an 89. I can tell you it was worth the drive...I'll leave it at that! You can take the teas any where in the U.S. Good luck :)

I m planing on taking it for the 3rd time so thanks for the tip lol
Honestly, I don't see what being bitter & posting it on here does for anyone. It is what it is, acceptances have been sent out & more may be on the way. TWU actually does have a point system in place, and a spreadsheet you are able to download directly from their website to see where you stand. Reapplying does not better your chances on its own, it's all about the points & where you stand in comparison to everyone else.
I thought this was all information that had previously been shared on this very same thread, but in here's a reminder just in case. 🙃
Anywho, just my two cents.
"I know. Still haven't been able to process it. I don't mean to discredit anyone but it's crazy how someone with a 2.9 gpa and 70-something TEAS gets in because of it. Apparently, applying multiple times also helps. I don't understand how a 4.0 and top 1% score on the TEAS gets waitlisted. It's rather insulting."
First I'm sorry you were waitlisted but why attempt to make someone feel less than because you have a "4.0"? You don't know whether he/she took Honor's classes or what the deal was. Let's all just congratulate all that made it in, cross your fingers that you will be off the waitlist and in classes before Fall 2016, and leave it at that. I believe TWU is one of the ONLY schools that is so transparent in their process. They tell you up front that if you have a previous bachelor's or TWU classes, you are rated a tad higher. If that's not something that suits your fancy try another school that does not give preferences at all but at all costs don't make someone's scores look bad because you have a 4.0.
Congratulations to the young lady/man who made it in with the "70-something TEAS" score and everyone else that made it in! I'm also rooting for those that were waitlisted! I know the awful feeling of rejection!
