Texas Women University FALL 2016

Published

Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!

Did anyone got rejection email ? I haven't receive anything yet so I'm just wondering if that could be the case

The email was also followed up by an explanation email on the wait list and how it works with the new system.

Hi Azon,

So, a lot of you have been calling and emailing already to ask about your position on the wait list. We aren't actually planning on giving out students' positions on the wait list just yet. Wait lists are a new thing for us that NursingCAS allows us to do.

I can tell you that Dallas was way more competitive than normal. Many students whom we would have expected to make it in did not make that first cut. It is very common, especially for Fall entry, for Dallas to add more students. In fact, sometimes they'll add students the week prior to classes beginning.

I wish I could be more specific, but things vary each semester. Telling you a number isn't going to mean much. I could tell you that you are #1 on the list, but they may never add any additional students. Alternately, there have been semesters where 50 or so students were admitted. There's just no point to worrying you all with numbers right now. A lot of it depends upon how many students decline their spots, or how many don't show to the May new student orientation, or how many don't realize that their criminal background isn't as clean as they thought, and thus can't start in fall.

I know you're anxious, and, believe me, we root for you. You'll be informed more clearly after April 1st.

Heather

Must of been a pretty competitive year. However, that being the case, I wouldn't be surprised if TWU expands the acceptance size before classes start since it seems like a lot of lit applicants strutted in this cycle, but that could just be wishful thinking.

Wait listed people. Don't worry...you will more than likely get in. I can't promise you this...but I think the class size may be expanded a bit because of NursingCAS. I'm hoping thing all go through so at UTHSC! Like the email from Heather said, there are millions of reasons why some candidates don't get in who have been initially accepted. Stay hopeful that it will more than likely work out. I wish you all the best!

Congrats on your acceptance guys! I am a J1 on the Dallas campus now and I am really enjoying the program! In response to a negative comment made earlier in this forum I would have to disagree. I already have a bachelors and a masters degree and the education I am receiving from TWU right now is top notch. From the facilities, clinical sites, to instructors I have nothing negative to say!

I would highly recommend taking Patho this summer if you can. Your workload next semester will be much less stressful if you do. This semester we have tests in Patho on Monday's and Concept's on Tuesdays (followed by two more tests the next week)-- so getting that out of the way will really help you! So thankful I took it before I started. Enjoy your freedom and relaxation now because your lives will be devoted to nursing school in the fall! :)

To those of you on the wait list, hang in there!

Yes. I got an automatic reply that she will be out of the office today and will be back tomorrow

Do you know if she will still receive the email?

I got a rejection letter.

Congrats!!!!!!

Do you know how much the TWU bump boosted our GPA?

Also, is this posted GPA your overall GPA or from the selected 7 courses?
