On Monday (4/4) they had already heard and their interview was on the previous Monday (3/28).

Did you hear anything back from the interview yet? I have not but heard of at least one person who did already (and others who have not).

PCA student position at Parkland
My interview is Tuesday morning as well. I am currently working 20 hours a week (non healthcare related) and doing nursing school full time (first semester). I would really like to gain hospital experience though. I submitted my application on Sunday and they emailed me Tuesday for an interview so I haven't even had time to really think about it yet. I'm not sure how to prepare or what to expect!

Texas Women University FALL 2016
Well.. it will be BUSY! There is a LOT of info! If you aren't organized then you need to figure out how to be quickly.Invest in a planner to keep track of everything. Some weeks are harder than others. One week we had a test Monday, a test Tuesday, a check off during assessment lab and a pass/fail math test all in the same week. But it is DOABLE! I am also working 20 hours a week this semester and I'm hanging in there! You will hear constantly - it's so hard... nursing school will take over your life.. and all that is true but if you stay on top of things and don't get behind you will be fine. The test are hard... learning how to choose the "most" correct answer is tricky but if you really know the material you will be fine. There have been days between tutoring, class and studying I've been on campus from 6am-9pm. Sign up for the mentor program during orientation. It is helpful to have a person you can ask questions to all semester. You will make friends quickly in the program because you will be together all the time. There is also peer tutoring for all of the classes so take advantage of that if you need it. All of this stuff is free. The instructors are also super helpful if you are struggling. I feel like I am just sort of rambling on here so if you have any specific questions you can PM me! :) It is a lot of work but it is fun (most days) and the stress will all be worth it in the end! Plus it goes by FAST!

Texas Women University FALL 2016
Congrats on your acceptance guys! I am a J1 on the Dallas campus now and I am really enjoying the program! In response to a negative comment made earlier in this forum I would have to disagree. I already have a bachelors and a masters degree and the education I am receiving from TWU right now is top notch. From the facilities, clinical sites, to instructors I have nothing negative to say! I would highly recommend taking Patho this summer if you can. Your workload next semester will be much less stressful if you do. This semester we have tests in Patho on Monday's and Concept's on Tuesdays (followed by two more tests the next week)-- so getting that out of the way will really help you! So thankful I took it before I started. Enjoy your freedom and relaxation now because your lives will be devoted to nursing school in the fall! :) To those of you on the wait list, hang in there! Also, you may want to check out this blog written by a former TWU student to give you an idea of what you are in for: This Nursing Journey

Pre-Nursing Student w/ a BS and MS in other fields
I have a previous bachelors and masters and will be starting a BSN program in the Spring. I do not think there is anything wrong with getting another bachelors degree! Will you institution accept CLEP exams? Maybe you can test out of bio and chem and go directly into micro. My previous bachelors was from a different state so I took CLEP exams to avoid having to take some some "unnecessary" classes.

Patho is technically not a "nursing" course. It is BIOL 4344 so you are allowed to take it without being accepted into the nursing program. You just have to apply to TWU and be accepted to the university.

The class is hard but doable. The teacher isn't the greatest. However, she does curve each test. It is basically a self taught class. Your J1 semester will be that much easier if you complete it before hand!

Hi guys! I'm starting at TWU Dallas in the Spring. I just wanted to encourage you guys to take Patho before you start the program if at all possible. (Especially if you plan to take it in Dallas - not sure about other teachers but... yikes!). It will really make your life so much easier!

TWU Spring 2016 Houston
Hey guys. I applied to Dallas but have been following your thread too since ours is pretty quiet. The university was open today because we had class (I'm taking pathophysiology there now). I think we will all hear at the same time. The 220 eligible applicants for 90 spots would only be for the Houston campus. The 90 spots seems kind of low though as I was told they usually accept around 120-130 at each campus. Best of luck to you all. I really hope we hear something soon!!

On the Houston thread an advisor told them "late this week or early next week" and usually responses go out on the same day for both. The waiting is killing me!
