Has anyone done this program? Or has anyone been accepted to this program?? I am wanting to start this program next Fall, and I just wanted some input. Thanks!!!

Congrats RN2B and KSTAR! God Speed in your programs...

Congrats on your acceptance to the 2nd degree programs. I'm applying to TTUHSC in the spring. I'm so nervous that I will not have what they are looking for. May I ask in what area are your previous degrees?

Thank you Mlh0283 - I truly appreciate it.

Cowboy 106 - My previous degree was in Communications, and I have been a stay at home mom for 12 years - always wanted to be a nurse - for as long as I can remember. I know volunteer experience is big, and any medical experience would be great. I volunteered for over a year in a local ER and other than that, I maintained a 4.0 gpa to ensure I would be a strong applicant. Your previous degree can be anything and I know a 4.0 is not needed by any means to get accepted, I was just doing that to make up for lack of experience. Good luck and feel free to PM me, I go to orientation in Lubbock this week and cant wait to meet the other students and get started!

can somebody give me an information about this university? is this a private or public university? how is this university ranked as in terms of difficulity? i'm in michigan and university of michigan is considered the top university in michigand and difficult in terms of level of education received. how does this university ranked diffult or easy?

I'm sorry I dont have those stats, I know the average GPA is typically high. Maybe someone has that info. But I know you have to live in Texas, its a public university and I have heard its thought of very highly among local hospitals but I dont know how it ranks among others.

Thanks, RN2BE. Best wishes to you in your orientation this week. I'll be applying this spring for the Abilene program. My bachelor's was in English, and I taught high school and was a school counselor for a number of years. I'm taking some pre-reqs and I'll have nearly a year of volunteer experience in two different medical settings, so hopefully I'm taking care of business appropriately. I may PM you in the future, but apparently I haven't yet had enough posts on this site to earn the PM privilege.

Thanks so much for your response. I truly wish you the best!

How in the world did you not get into TTU's program? You had great stats.

Your guess is as good as mine. Either way, I got in somewhere so I'm happy :)

What about you? Did you apply also?

I'm going to. I'm taking prerequisites in Austin, but I'm kind of wary of not getting in...I am ambivalent about it being an online program also. Eventually I'd like to go for a CNS advanced degree, so I'm trying to keep tuition low and not apply to every expensive out-of-state program. Hassles!

Lion1nwinter,

I sent you a private message.

Hi Lionwinter,

Just wondering where you took your prereqs in Austin? ACC? I am in the Austin area also and looking to take some prereqs and then apply to the Texas Tech program. Do you know of any online prereqs or weekend? I work full time, so I would have to try to work around that schedule for now. Thanks!

ACC. I'm taking Physiology and Pathophysiology right now, and then will take Chemistry & do my CNA in the summer. I think you can take Patho online, but you'd have to take tests at the testing centers.
