Hey all,

I just read most of the posts and found it all very helpful. I too have applied for the 2011 session in Austin and am anxiously awaiting a response. Has anyone heard yet?? Also, for the people who are already in the program, could you possibly tell me approximately what the tuition is because I am having a hard time finding out what it is. Lastly, (sorry for the 20 questions, I am very nervous!) what kind of interview questions were asked?

Thanks for your input and good luck to everyone!!

I have an interview scheduled for Nov 3 for Tech's spring 2011 Accelerated BSN in Austin (and I have to say, I was thrilled to see this thread!). Tuition is definitely online...I can't remember where I saw it, but it is up there. And it is definitely pricey. There is also at least one thread on allnurses about interview questions, that would probably be a good place to start.

I'm pretty nervous/excited, can't wait for the interview! My invitation letter said that they would be making a decision by early Nov, so it's do or die time!

Hi. I was wondering how your interview went? I also interviewed in El Paso and am dying to know the outcome. I thought it went really well. I'm a little nervous about the demand for the next 12 months. I know I can handle it, but it's the unknown that is always a little scary. I am very excited! When do you think we'll hear something?

I feel my interview went well however I also feel that you never really know how an interview goes unless you get it/ or don't get what you are going after. I've had great interviews for jobs that I didn't get and horrible interviews for jobs I did get, so you can see the confusion. haha ;)

Anyway, from what I've heard from other interviewees, the interviews were pretty different for each person. It appears they were tailored for that person. Some were asked about expenses, I wasn't. I noticed that a few were asked why they wanted to be a nurse, where as my question along those lines was, why do you want to change and why now? Similar questions, but can pull very different answers. It might have alot to do with the essay that was written and background info on your resume, who knows.

Most people that I talked to and have heard from here, feel they did well. We are supposed to find out in mid November so not to far away (but far enough for the anxious).

I have to admit I've been checking the Merlin site everyday. I know it's supposed to come mid November, but I'd really like to know! hee hee. Guess I'll just have to wait patiently like the rest of us. What was first degree in?

I got in! I received my email yesterday at around 4pm. I thought we had to wait another week or so to hear back. I will be in the Austin cohort and I am ridiculously excited. Has anyone else heard yet?:yeah::yelclap:*wine

I found out yesterday around 4 p.m. of my acceptance as well. I was also surprised at how quickly the notice came, as I was not expecting it until at least next week.

I am in the Austin cohort.

I'll see y'all in Lubbock in December for orientation.

Congratulations SharStn13 and rossd!!! AWESOME!

I interviewed on Wednesday in Austin, and haven't heard anything yet, but I'm not really expecting to hear anything until next week at the earliest. When did you interview??

Did everyone else have Marylin there on the day of the interview? I wasn't expecting that...

Thank you, CAgirlinTX!

Yes, Marylin was there for everyone, I suppose, and she

was a great help in getting me ready for the interview session.

You will probably hear very soon, as you interviewed a day after I did.

Good luck!

Congrats for getting accepted! I'm waiting to hear about the acceptance for El Paso. Has anyone heard in the El Paso group? I'm surprised Austin heard so quickly, their interviews were later than ours! haha I'm even more nervous!

I interviewed on Nov. 1st. I hope you find out soon CAlgirlinTX! Congrats rossd! Yeah Marilyn was there for my interview. It was really nice to talk to a friendly person before going in. And it was great to have a heads up on what the interview questions would be.

I am so excited I've already booked my hotel, flight, etc. for the orientation. Now I just have to tell my work. :uhoh3: Any words of advice on that one?

oh, so quick!

how many lucky guys will be admitted at Austin?

3 days, totally 50 interviewees?

I believe they mentioned that there were 30 available seats for the

Austin cohort, with twice as many applicants being interviewed.
