Tested Positive for THC at a Pre Employment Drug Screening

Nurses Recovery

Updated:   Published

I recently tested positive for a pre employment drug screening for THC. I smoked CBD before going out and running errands as it helped with my social anxiety. I was contacted by the DOH in Florida recently and I decided to look for an attorney.

One of them I spoke with suggested I go to IPN and get an evaluation done but after reading testimonies from other nurses who also tested positive for THC, it seems like all of them were hit with a 5 year contract.

I heard it can get very expensive. That IPN's main goal is to wring you for all your worth.

Does anyone have any experiences they can share including how long they were forced to be under contract as well as how much it cost?

I decided to just quit CBD in itself because it was not worth the trouble I am going through right now and I am now a month without it.

Clearly New York doesn't mind if its employees in any field are high while caring for people, working around machinery or even a driving job. NY= pro drug use.

I think that's a one-sided view if someone is obviously intoxicated at work they'll handle it but I don't think just because you take a CBD gummy you're high I've taken CBD it doesn't make you highI think that's a one-sided view if someone is obviously intoxicated at work they'll handle it but I don't think just because you take a CBD gummy you're high I've taken CBD it doesn't make you high.... For example if a nurse takes a whole bottle of acetaminophen is that nurses safe to practice? Probably not good have stomach bleeding problems might be trying to hurt oneself in addition how does that equate with taking one CBD gummy ?? it doesn't ...I disagree with you

You're so focused on trying to get ppl in trouble rather than really read what I said. I Did not say anything about where I'm working. I'm speaking in general. ? TF

There's a difference between smoking weed for the THC effects and the CBD gummies or oil and such. I don't see an issue with CBD because you can't get high from it. You can disagree with me but I'll agree with you.

It's actually an RX for some patients too. But getting high as a kite, it's a completely different problem.

New York and select other states don't mind what people do in their spare time as long as it doesn't effect job performance.  Marijuana intoxication at work isn't tolerated just as alcohol usage isn't tolerated.   Similarly,  drinking alcohol off work time is just fine as long as it doesn't effect work performance.   I had 1 cocktail last night.  Should I then be considered unsafe to take care of patients ?

Exactly! Which is what's going on with this pre employment drug screening. Individuals are being reported to the DOH for a failed pre employment drug screen. They could have had a CBD gummy 3 weeks ago and test positive from that.  They haven't even started working with patients yet. To say they are impaired ? how so? Insane!

Something in your story does not make sense.Properly manufactured CBD does not cause a positive THC test nor does it make you feel high. I have use CBD for years for my fibromyalga and have never tested positive for THC..

Properly manufactured! There are so many CBD products out there that has THC in them and ppl do not know this. And still, this is about pre employment. Even if someone does take a THC gummy a month ago , when their drug screen come back positive should that cost them their license smh

I had a friend who recently used a CBD product that was supposedly a CBD isolate, and the company made claims that it was totally THC free. It even came with a lab analysis to "prove" this. However, when she did a home UDS, it popped positive for THC.

Due to the lack of regulation in the manufacturing of CBD products, there really isn't a safe way to use it. There are so many factors that make using  CBD products like playing Russian Roulette. In a study published by thec FDA, CBD products  were tested. Results showed that 70% contained more or less CBD than advertised. Many of the products "contained a significant amount of THC.”

They are cheating their consumers.

As with any supplement it pays to do your homework and be sure of what you are using. There is also delta 8 which is federally legalized.
