I recently tested positive for a pre employment drug screening for THC. I smoked CBD before going out and running errands as it helped with my social anxiety. I was contacted by the DOH in Florida recently and I decided to look for an attorney.
One of them I spoke with suggested I go to IPN and get an evaluation done but after reading testimonies from other nurses who also tested positive for THC, it seems like all of them were hit with a 5 year contract.
I heard it can get very expensive. That IPN's main goal is to wring you for all your worth.
Does anyone have any experiences they can share including how long they were forced to be under contract as well as how much it cost?
I decided to just quit CBD in itself because it was not worth the trouble I am going through right now and I am now a month without it.

I totally agree! Do not go the IPN route! It is a nightmare!
My understanding is that PPIs can cause a false positive. Perhaps you can meet with an attorney and go that route. Alternatively, CBD is legal, so that might be an avenue as well. This isn't a problem in New York state. Its illegal to include cannabinoids in pre-employment drug testing panels as marijuana is legal here.

Yes. Quite serious. It doesn't make sense to penalize someone for what they can legally do outside of work hours. Given that cannabinoids are fat soluble, tests can stay positive for weeks.
Not sure if it's just New York. Let me know what you find out.

It's not that they don't care, this is pre employment drug testing that are putting nurses jobs on the line. If they would run drug and alcohol test on every nurse on the floor right now the whole hospital will be out of nurses. Let's be for real

Sounds like Florida needs to get on board with New York I love it that employers can't test for that I think that's excellent because you know there's a fine line between maintaining patient safety but then there's also a fine line by using legislation to make money off of people that are in a basically public servants first responders NURSES THE people that are vital to the health of our population... so it is apparent that Florida's behind New York obviously you guys are way more progressive but I would love to speak with you on this because I have branched out from Nursing to now like lobby and you know talk with hospitals corporately and hopefully influence our governor here in Florida yes DeSantis not proud of that but I'm so happy to get the email about your post ?

You're so focused on trying to get ppl in trouble rather than really read what I said. I Did not say anything about where I'm working. I'm speaking in general. ? TF
