PETH testing for Affinity

I have been sober for 4+ months but took a shot/a little less than a shot on the 17th of May. I have a PETH testing today which will make it 12 days. Will I be okay? Does anyone have a similar experience? I'm 5'2, 105lbs.

First, I wish you the best and hope you continue with recovery.  Important, your wrote that you "have" been sober for 4 months.  That no longer applies.  It's correct to write, you "HAD" been sober.  You just drank 12 days ago, so not really sober, sober, but for 12 days, you are back on the train and doing well, haven't drank anything and congrats.  You got this.

Chance are low, but not so low you have nothing to worry about.  You are small and took one shot.  Still, one shot 12 days is Usually.....Usually not enough to trigger a positive, but a positive is Absolutely not out of the ballpark and very possible.  I would guess, 1 in 5 chance of a positive.  4 out of 5 chance no positive.

If you are an alcoholic, be far, far more concerned about you having that one shot than you should be about the test being positive.

I would agree with SheelaDavis and you should be okay.  Just to be detail-oriented though, your shot was around or less than 2oz or 50ml?   And what was the percentage/proof of alcohol?

I had to be put on a monitoring program because I had cannabis on me 7+ years ago. I've never had an alcohol problem, just have to abstain for monitoring which sucks. But I messed up because I wanted to take a small birthday shot LOL.

If you have not drank for 4+ weeks prior to the >2oz birthday shot and it was 40%, then you are fine.  The peth after 12 days is negative.

Thanks for posting updates on tests or other things.  We all need to do that more on here to help each other out and for people who use the search function.

I am about to finish IPN after a 5-year contract.  Take your contract seriously and abstain from drinking.  The very last thing you want, or need is a positive test.  This will require you to be taken out of work, get another eval and more than likely be put into a PHP or IOP program, and can also result in you having to start your contract over.  It is also important to not have a dilute urine.  If you need further knowledge on how to avoid this, I will be glad to offer you some tips. A dilute urine will result in immediate testing which usually consists of an observed urine and peth test on the same day.  I wish you all the best.  Stay strong and carry on!!

Do all contract get therapy and or AA/NA?

Substance abuse. Yes

Some states like mine allow zoom aa or na meetings. You have to keep a log.  For michigan you're looking at weekly group therapy, monthly individual therapy and meeting with an addiction specialist every 3 months.  It's rare to find one thar takes insurance.  You can't use insurance for drug tests either.
