They won't let you work on Suboxone, at least not in my state. For Gabapentin.in my state they let you work but you had to stop it and the time you were on it didn't count toward your time in monitoring beyond the 1st year. I guess you're just supposed to be in pain.

I had Covid and influenza a while in monitoring. I just suffered. I didn't want to call the case manager. I couldn't stand her. In my state if a Dr says to take a banned substance you need permission to take it and then you can't work until you test negative followed by extra tests. Not worth it for me.

Activities after work like a doctor appointment.,dinner with friends . I wasn't going to wake up early every day to see if I should trst before work so I went after work if I had to test.

They must report you to a monitoring agency I would guess if you test positive otherwise it wouldn't really help anyone stay sober. For me the worst part was not being able to plan things because I may have had to test. A hair test or nail test every 3 months on a scheduled day with a peth test scheduled monthly would have sufficed but less tests is less money. Sadly I'll probably be bitter about this forever

Exactly 3 years to the date. Ex feb 1 2023 to Feb 1 2026. I checked in on my last day again ex feb 1. CM called and said I was done. I promptly deleted the application on my phone. I need to check my mail. I was only reported to the monitoring program. I never had a consent order. The biggest reason I didn't fight this was that no one will ever know this happened. It was not reported to the BON. I only dealt with the monitoring program. One thing I thought was hilarious was that the testing company offers monitoring outside of the monitoring program.. No I don't want to check in and test for fun. I don't know if they'd report you. I assume so.

Im finally done with the miserablejo monitoring program. It was awful in every way. I don't even have an addiction or substance use disorder. I finished on time with no extra time bu doing exactly what they asked. I was never late with anything, no positive tests. My advice is if there's another comparable career do it. If not just do all the stuff you're asked . Complain to people outside the program not their providers. Your moo. I checked in first thing every morning so I didn't forget. I was super careful not to ingest anything that would cause a positive test No extra or special tests at the end. Less tests each year.

Id avoid poppy seeds. I know two people who tested positive. One was " forgiven " by the board because the ingestion of poppy seeds , one got more time.

Im not a lawyer or anything but this is a big deal. They don't know if it was a one time thing or the first time you were caught. I would bet you can keep your license but I'd expect a monitoring agreement unless they didn't report you. Learn from this and never do anything to jeopardize your license again . I would actually get a hair and nail test to support it being a one time thing.

The drug test shows no use. A hair test would go back further but someone saw you divert.

Thank you. Soon I'll be done. We do a hair test every quarter. No changes in anything for me. I've been the model prisoner. I know one person who had an extra hair test. They were in for over 6 years though.
