Had very similar situation happen to me in FL as well. I originally was contacted by the IPN but after going through their psych referral and paying thousands out of pocket with the likelihood of also having to do a 5 year contract that was unnecessary and unaffordable I decided to just deal with the BON directly and they let me go with a warning. I am very grateful I didn't have to do IPN. They are out of control and need oversight for sure.

Hey, how long ago did this happen to you? Did you hire an attorney?!

this was 4 years ago in 2019 and no I did not. I am very happy that I didn't need to waste so much money and time. I literally just had to have someone from the BON interview me and the worst part was waiting- it took them nearly a year to finally tell me I was not going to be punished.
That's amazing! I have an attorney working my case. I just hope my license don't end up having any marks on it and this does not become public. Literally tested positive for THC pre employment. It's pretty sad and unfortunate that nurses, good nurses are being nailed to the cross for this.

Thank you for your responses. I have opted out of doing IPN and decided not to hire an attorney either as I just can't afford the cost. I have decided to fight it on my own so it's encouraging to hear how this worked out for you. Did they make you stop working during this time that you had to wait for their response? Also. How long once you were reported did it take for them to contact you?
