I took the NLN December 17th and STILL don't have my scores back!!!! I'm going NUTS!! Anyone have any advice on the essay? I'm told content is very important... but no one has ever mentioned exactly what it should be about. Its the last thing I have to do and my app package will be complete. Don't have much longer. In a month I will be sitting on pins and needles just like you guys were around Thanksgiving. I'm so excited, and nervous. WHERE are my NLN results!! UGH!

When I turned my one page essay in, last semester, they told me all I needed was a paragraph.

I got my NLN scores back so fast that it freaked me out! Literally!! LOL I was afraid to open the envelope. Maybe the holidays play a part in how fast they come back b/c I took mine in August. As far as the essay goes, I just wrote a simple essay about what was my deciding factor to finally go back to school at this time.

Have you all received your permits to register? I have not received anything yet and I just want to see if I any one has been able to register.

OK, FINALLY got results from NLN. 111- not as good as I could've done, but not as bad as I thought I'd done. Wonder what I would've made if I'd watched my time and not had to bubble in so many at the last second. I'd like to retake it, but oh well, Bombs away, gonna apply thanks xander, kay_bee, illusion, everyone for your input- it so comforting to hear something from someone! I'm not alone! So final index score 54. Its no 67 (like I've seen so many of on here) but its what I've got so send prayers please- and I'm rooting for all you starting this semester! GOOD LUCK!! Keep posting!... so now do I start a "calling all SWTCC Fall2011 Hopefuls" thread?

Thats a good score being that you bubbled in some of your answers. To be honest with you I didn't know a thing about the NLN until some classmates of mines told me about it, I didn't study for it. I didn't even know Southwest required an exam(shows you how much research I did). They also told me when the next test was offered so I went along with them, paid for the test and took it. I had no idea what the heck the test covered. I took it, ran out of time on every dang blasted section so I left some answers blank and my score was a 100. I did really well on the Biology portion if my memory serves me correctly. So you are still in the running to be america's next top model(just had to get that out). A good friend of mines told me they accepted someone with an index score of 48 in the fall of 2009 so your chances are good.

thanks illusion! As I said before, there is comfort in every response!! And hearing that I'm still in the running to be ANTM, sure is reassuring! I'm trying my best to stay positive... still not letting myself get too excited just in case. Doing my essay and I'll be done! Keep on chugging... Thank you!

I just got my score back 136! I feel could do better but thats just gonna have to do!

My questions are Whats the special application, where do you get it and how do you submit the essay?

I applied online and havent heard anything from anyone yet. It snowed today. Ill go by the union campus and bug someone when they reopen.

My current index score is 60.69.

I wouldn't stress too much. I honestly can't imagine some of the people who were in my first semester who made a 100 on the NLN. Just being honest here. They are no longer in the program, but they did make the cut, so try not to stress, I do think the competitiveness is overblown.
