  1. The voicemail says that they will return calls between 2 and 5. I don't know who returns calls and when but they never replied to any of my calls or e-mails. I don't think I have ever had such an important process move so slow. I guess that's because they don't have to answer to anyone. I hope that both of us can get some type of acknowledgement soon!
  2. I live on the TN-MS border. I live in MS but attended school in TN. My TN classmates have received their ATTs and are sitting for NCLEX. For those of us in MS, it has been over a month and our applications still have not been processed. My phone calls and e-mails have yielded no response. I am currently working as a grad nurse but since the majority of the new grads hired are from TN, they have been able to sit for NCLEX and so I am being questioned as to why I am not testing. This is VERY frustrating! The one time someone answered the phone, she told me that they had relocated offices and they were working on them... Is anyone else having this issue?
  3. I am in my last semester of an ADN program (47 days until pinning to be exact! :) ) and I have worked the entire time. I couldn't afford not too. We are definitely a 2 income household. I am married with 3 children. Work 8 1/2 hours Monday - Thursday, have class Mon, Tues, and Thur night, and clinical all day Friday. The weekends are my study time. In an ideal world, I would not have worked b/c I feel like my classmates that don't work definitely have that edge of study time; and while I no longer have the 4.0 that I came into the program with, I have never been in danger of failing and I am ok with that. Good luck!
  4. Never mind... I received my permits about 30 min after posting.
  5. Thanks! I received my permit about an 30 min after I posted. As the days were going and I saw other people being added and none of them were me... It freaked me out! LOL But I am in now. Time to sit back and enjoy these last couple of weeks before it begins...
  6. Have you all received your permits to register? I have not received anything yet and I just want to see if I any one has been able to register.

  8. I got my NLN scores back so fast that it freaked me out! Literally!! LOL I was afraid to open the envelope. Maybe the holidays play a part in how fast they come back b/c I took mine in August. As far as the essay goes, I just wrote a simple essay about what was my deciding factor to finally go back to school at this time. Good luck! I hope everything works out for you!
  9. If I were you, I would apply for the fall anyway. SWCC accepts more nursing students in the fall than in the spring so it's slightly less competive in the fall and that will help your chances. And who knows, you will probably kill the NLN and it will just be a matter of what is more convenient for you; days or nights and weekends? Good luck!
  10. Thanks so much!! I just really wanted to get an idea of my other options. I had planned on all white gym shoes but I am having no luck in that arena. I will try some of the shoes that I heard here and see which ones are the best fit for me! Thanks...
  11. I will be beginning nursing school next month. I am curious as to what kind of shoes everyone is purchasing or has purchased for school. We are required to wear all-white shoes and I am having a hard time finding shoes that fit the color bill but are still comfortable. I was going for a tennis shoe but I was interested in knowing if other students are choosing nursing shoes such as nursemates over a tennis shoe. Thanks for your input.
  12. Congrats!! So how does it feel to be going into the 2nd semester?? I know that there is a lot less anxiety and sense of feeling overwhelmed!! I took my last final Monday and since I have completed the checklist, I have decided to stop worrying about the upcoming semester as a new nursing student and just enjoy these weeks off!:hpygrp:
  13. I cannot say enough about Kimi Meza! :heartbeat I am so happy that I canceled my other CPR class and went with her. Thanks Szanin5 for the information!
  14. I am going to be 35 when I graduate nursing school and this bothered me initially simply b/c I was accepted into nursing school at age 20 and was unable to attend; so I kept looking at all the time that was lost. Then my grandmother told me that I could turn 35 and begin a career that I love and have always wanted or I could turn 35 and still complain about not being able to get the career that I love and have always wanted!!
