Temple College 2015

Published

Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying for the LVN or RN programs at Temple College for 2015. We can share information, discuss any concerns, talk about the HESI exam, getting cleared through the Board of Nursing, or the just nursing program in general! Those of you that are already in the program are more than welcome to chime in.

PLEASE NOTE: I am in no way taking responsibility for any wrong information given, nor will I moderate this thread. I just want to meet new friends and support one another through the process of applying and getting our acceptance letters!

I know there were 280+ applicants for the 60 spots for ADN. Most ppl that posted here and got accepted had all the co reqs either done or in progress when they got accepted. I had all the coreqs+prereqs done got a 96 hesi and 3.9 GPA and I'm out of the area. So my reccomndation is to get all prereqs dome with a 3.5 and get a 90+ hesi and that should make u extremely competitive. I had my BON done after being accepted from getting printed to getting the card took about 2-3 weeks, they will give you the info you need to register for the BON. Any other questions I will do my best to answer. Good luck?

This is what I was told as well. The LVN process with HESI might be different and might be why we have conflicting info, because I only applied to the ADN

Ok so I am registering for the fall and am going to be applying for the LVN and ADN program. I am registered for Eng comp 1, psych 1, ITSE for lvn, and I can either register for biol 2401 or 2404. Im stuck because I want to have both points for the 2404 and itse for LVN. But if I don't take 2401 now I won't have the a&p 2 done by when I apply to ADN, only the 2401 in progres. So for spring my I'll take psych 2, a&p 1 and whatever else. So basically I can either take 2401 or 2404 and either have both points forLVN Or only have 1 point for the itse. Or I can just take 2401 and have a&p 2 in progress for the ADN program in the spring. I just wouldn't have both points for the LVN app, but I do live in-district and have a high HESI score. Any suggestions?

I have A&P 1 and A&P2 i took general physiology, speech, spanish, math, english, lifespan.i just need the HESI my Gpa is a 3.8 i hope thats good for temple college

Very similar to my stats, but keep in mind they only count prereqs/coreqs towards your GPA. So it might not get scored as a 3.8 or it might go up depending on your Spanish grade. Either way those are great scores just get a 90+ HESI and you will be in great shape :)

Which program do you want more? Personally I prioritized ADN program. I would take AP 1&2 if you'd rather go straight to run first RN first

I want ADN more, I went ahead and registered for A&P 1 :-)

How can i found out about the pre and coreqs

That's great! Just get some As and you are golden :) happy for ya, successful people go for their big goals!

The temple website has them but prepeqs are English, psch, and AP1- coreqs for extra points ( which if possible do them before applying to get more points ) are - Lifespan growth and development, and AP2

*microbiology is no longer a coreq

Hope the helped :)

I spoke with an advisor today at TC and was told in Fall 2015 you can either take Intro to A&P 2404, BIOL 1308 or BIOL 1406 due to the fact that the course content in A&P 1 is changing to ensure you're successful in AP 1&2.. I am a bit nervous about pushing A&P 1 to the spring 16" semester since its cutting close. Not sure what would be the best option. There's a link that provides more detail on specific learning objectives that needs to be understood before enrolling. I'm sure any preparation is helpful just debating if it's worth the investment.

For anyone who's taken Intro to A&P or BIOL 1308, 1406 applying to the ADN program, did you find the course helpful able to understand and succeed in A&P?

Really? They didn't tell me that yesterday. So we are able to tak intro to a&p instead of a&p 1 for the adn program?? I'll have to ask them that tommorow.
