Temple College 2015

Published

Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying for the LVN or RN programs at Temple College for 2015. We can share information, discuss any concerns, talk about the HESI exam, getting cleared through the Board of Nursing, or the just nursing program in general! Those of you that are already in the program are more than welcome to chime in.

PLEASE NOTE: I am in no way taking responsibility for any wrong information given, nor will I moderate this thread. I just want to meet new friends and support one another through the process of applying and getting our acceptance letters!

Hey Kate!!!! I barely knowhow to use this site! Hope all is well with everyone! I am sssoooooo nervous!!! I cant wait to start though!!!!

Did you guys get the e-mail about the nurse pack? Possibly silly question:

I know it is supposed to be mailed to the nursing department, so on the form where it asks for address do we put the the nursing department address?

Less than a month until we all meet!

You should be fine to apply for next year (2016). They take applications for the ADN in the spring. They do a point system when determining who gets in to the program. You may not get the 1 point for living in district because you would be living in Killeen.

Hey Everybody I have literally just read this whole post which took my about a hour lol! I plan to apply for the LVN and ADN Program this year '15-"16. I am currently registered for The Intro to A&P and ITSE computer class for lvn and also engl comp 1 and Psyc 1 for the fall. Both of the classes I am registeree for in the fall will be in a IP status when applying for LVN. In the spring I will apply to ADN and will be currently registered for Psyc 2, A&P 1, so all I will have left is A&P 2 (which I hope I will still have a good chance of getting in without have completed that class. I will strive to make all A's and a 90 or above on the HESI. If I get accepted into the LVN and not the ADN then I just plan on transferring to MCC's Tarleton University LVN-BSN program instead of bridging to ADN. If I get accepted into ADN then I will just do that and maybe continue my BSN through a jobplace. Any Recommendations anybody could give me or advice would be greatly appreciated?! Any LVN or ADN school experience would be awesome as well. And any opinions on my path I have chosen as well.

I hope I get to meet anybody else looking to apply into the LVN and ADN programs this year!!

Yes you can I live in Copperas Cove and got accepted.

My advice is for getting accepted, and I would suggest having all the possible courses completed before applying. I would just take AP 1 this semester instead of the intro class, and you can check to verify but if you have AP1 done I don't believe you need intro AP for LVN application

Ok I will definitely check again with that. I was originally registered for A&P 1 before. But she told me if I was going to apply for LVN that I needed that Intro to A&P. She said that I could only use that if I have both A&P 1 and 2 because there's something in the A&P 2 that includes some part of intro to A&P. So I am down to either keeping my schedule the way it is and applying to the LVN program and the RN just not having the A&P 2 applying for ADN. OR I could change it back to ap1 and have all of my pre's done when applying to the ADN and still go ahead and apply to the LVN but only with my HESI score, the ITSE class completed and in-resident status (luckily I live here).

You have plenty of time because everyone that is going to TC nursing this year has already been accepted. You need to plan for '16-'17 school year. We are nearly 1/3 of the way through the '15-'16 LVN program and the ADN's all have their acceptance letters already...

Hi guys! I will be applying to the LVN and RN program for next year. I had a few questions I could not find on the website.

1. I have taken AP 1 and AP II. ( As well as a lot of other co-reqs) Do I still need to take the Intro to A&P course for LVN or would they count my AP 1 and 2 as a point?

2. I read that you can only take the HESI once per application. Does this mean I can take it once in November for the LVN app and then maybe again in March for the RN app?

3. Do you know if they have accepted LVN applicants without either class taken? Or just one? Not sure if that would count me out completely.

4. Does Temple allow online classes for either of the two LVN pre reqs? ( Intro to AP and the Comp class. )

Any help would be awesome!

Thank you!

Sorry to respond so late, but I just now read this post.

1. If you have both A&P1 &2, you do not need Intro to A&P.

2. Yes, you can retake it, but I have to disagree with the previous poster. You do not have to submit your most recent grade you can have your previous grade printed up first and you can turn in whichever one you want to go with as long as it is less than two years old.

3. They do accept applicants without these coreqs, but it will be harder to get in and harder to do well in class.

4. I believe both coreqs are available online.

The school told me that you on you retake the HESI that you have to use that grade and cannot use the previous grade even if it was higher. From the directors words

Congrats to those who've been accepted and starting this fall!

Just out of curiosity was there a long waiting list for this program? I'm considering applying for the Fall 16" ADN program then pursue my BSN shortly after. I've completed most of the non nursing core requisites except for A&P 2 and the only prerequisite I have left is A&P 1 which I plan to take in the fall of 15" at temple. Also when should I start the BON background check process? Before applying to a nursing program in general or after getting accepted to a program as I hear it takes forever and a day to process.
