Does the place where you work make you cover up your tattoo's???
Thanks
our dress policy says they must be covered. But they don't inforce it. for a while they did, and all the LAB people walked arround with big bandages on their arms. Yea, because thinking your tech has a big open wound is better than seeing a tat?
Totally! Hell, even when I worked at Blockbuster, I came to work ONE day with gauze covering the tattoo on my forearm and at the end of the day took it off. My coworker looked over and said "Oh thank god, you have a tattoo! I thought you cut yourself or something!" (on purpose). I looked at my manager and told him it was far more horrible to customers to think I have a gash in my arm than to see a freaking butterfly tattoo, and that I wouldn't be wearing the gauze anymore. And he agreed!
nope. i work at a SNF/rehab & i believe that theyre policy says as long as the tattoos isnt offensive or vulgar, its ok. im a RN with 1/2 sleeves & forearm tattoos that will eventually be full sleeves.
as far as piercings, i dont think were supposed to have facial. i have my septum & flip it up while im @ work but other nurses & CNAs have their nostrils, monroes... no problem there either. i have 1" lobes & 2gauge conches & they dont care about those either.

Well, I don't have one, but I do want one
I'm getting it in 2010 come hell or high water.
And to answer the OP...same as Crux1024: if they're not offensive, my workplace doesn't care.
