Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

Today I feel as if I'm floating on a cloud. Yes, what a relief to finally know!! I can't believe it's true. **I'm pinching myself** Im unbelievably happy that I got in, and my two friends got in with me, and all of you AllNurses peeps got in.

We really are going to be an amazing group....the FIRST class to start at the new beautiful downtown campus and a great support group for each other to help us get through what we're about to endeavor.

Would anyone be interested in having a Meet Up before Orientation? I was thinking we could meet up at or near the campus, check things out and maybe have lunch or dinner..(or happy hour??) Hmmmm? Anyone?

I just called to sign up for one of the CPR classes. Anyone else taking it through TCC?

I plan on taking it through TCC too...I ought to take care of that today. $50 seems reasonable to me too.

That sounds fun to me!

I am going to the campus today to deliver my acceptance form. My boss actually announced my acceptance over the hospital paging system. That was a nice surprise.

Any news from Pina today? I know she was still waiting for her packet to arrive.

I don't think she gets her mail (or home to it) till late.

That sounds fun to me too!!! I'm excited that I already have "friends" going into it. There's not many people who can say that.. :) or atleast for those that applied without knowing anyone else applying.

I dropped my letter off today at the campus!! Soooo exciting and a total relief!!!!!

Oh, and guys, we are about to hit a 100 pages!!!!

I just wanted to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to everyone again. I am so happy for all of you!!

A couple more months til I will start this stress of my own!!

Okay. So are we not supposed to get the Flu shot until September? Because I tried calling my family physician's office and they said that they don't carry them until September/October time frame. But yet on the forms we got it states we need to have those done in order to register. I'm confused. Any insight?

I dropped mine off, too. I asked Bev how many different schedules there will be and she said our class has 120 people so 12 clinical groups (must be 10 ea) and 6 of the other classes (20 ea). I hope I get or can trade for a.m. as I think I'll have an easier time getting my kids rides to school than home afterwards. So if anybody gets a.m. and wants p.m., keep me in mind! Also, on one of the bulletin boards someome has posted size 12 scrubs for sale: 2 tops, 2 pants, 1 jacket for $100.

I remember reading somewhere, in the lovely mass of paperwork :) , that flu shots are not required until September. I received a flu shot last November so technically I should still be covered, but I had the same check mark on my Immunization form.

I asked about the flu shot and Bev said it does refer to the fall shot. No worries. Also, I won't be able to do my drug screen til the week after Aug. 5, but that's not a problem either.

Thanks, I'm off to the pool to enjoy the summer before I don't have a life. Ta, Ta.
