Hello,
I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
So, you guys have just been ordering your textbooks, right? You haven't actually picked them up? I just went today to get mine and they said they won't have them until the end of July. I was sort of worried though because everyone I spoke to looked really confused...as if they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Just wanted to verify with you all.

I've also been told by the TR Bookstore that the package from Elsevier won't be available until the end of July, but we can preorder them now. I've been trying to contact the Elsevier representative that's listed on the price breakdown sheet with no luck. My understanding is that the delay is due to the original packages missing a component, so they're all having to be repackaged.
I pre-ordered my package on friday, and the manager had to come out and help. The counter staff had no clue.
Loly-I hope mine came with the code. It says brand new, so I assumed it did. It was delivered today, so I will know if it has the code when I get home. I just plugged in the ISMB number that was on the booklist we received and ordered the new version. Maybe I should have paid closer attention. I will let you know when I open it.

I was looking at amazon for that book and right next to the title it said, 'My Nursing Kit' but when I read the reviews people were complaining that it was not included along with the book. I haven't purchased my books yet but I was just extremely worried about purchasing books online this time around and getting burned later with additional costs of having to buy those components separately.
Please let me know where you found your book and if it had the component with it. Thank you so much.
Can any of you guys give us hopefuls a peak at what the schedule looks like? How many actual hours per week. Time? I know time are different for everyone but I would just like to see what you guys have. I would really appreciate it.
My schedule
Clinical : T/TH 1pm - 7pm
Theory : M/W 10:00am -11:50am
Skills lab : M 1:30pm - 4:30pm
Hope this helps and good luck to you.
my schedule is
Theory M/W 10-11:50
Skills Wed 1:30-4:30 (something like that)
Clinicals T/TH 1-7 North Hills
I was at the S. Campus forever today...registered for CPR, paid for CPR, drug screen, nurse kit. took care of financial aid (which i'm on appeal since I already have a AA degree from TCC...still waiting on approval grrr) and I had my 4 year old with me as we trekked from building to building - he was a trooper!
but I've got almost everything done on my list! and feeling less anxious as the list gets shorter.
Good night AN peeps!
actually...the schedules are all very similar. Theory is 2 hours X2 times per week...ex mine is Mon and Wed from 10-11:50
Then on one of those same Theory days you will have an extra Skills lab class for 3 hours..similar to a pre-req Science lab I can imagine. ex mine is Wed from 1:30-4:30
Then on the other 2 days, you'll have 6 hrs of Clinical X2 times per week...ex mine are Tues and Thursday from 1PM to 7PM. There are a few people who opt for X1 time per week example one 12 hour weekend Clinical, but generally most people are on a Mon-Thursday schedule, always off Friday.
I do not plan on working during the first semester, as I know it is one of the most difficult of all the semester as you have 3 classes instead of the normal 2, plus I want to get in and get a feel for it, and then gauge how much I think I can work, if at all. I expect I will probably begin working at least part time in my second semester.
I hope that helps you...maybe I didnt understand your question, but there ya go!!

Ab, that is a really good price. Did you buy the my nursing access code with it? If so, was that included in the 95?
