Hi everyone,

I will apply TCC Nursing school for Spring 2011. I will do my TEAS on 09/18 then apply.

Just want to share some info about your GPA, TEAS score, and some of the tips for the TEAS test.

I study a lot for the test but still nevous.... cross my finger.

My GPA overall: 4.0

TEAS score: i will know later

Just in case you didn't see this the first time around txmommy... I was curious if TCC had an active placement program set in place to help graduates of the program get a job. Or maybe those of you who've been accepted can answer this question for me after your Orientation on Friday.

Will do, I have been very aware of this issue, reading a ton of threads, so this is definitely at the forefront of my mind

As far as textbooks go. I recommend buying at the bookstore for the Foundations semester. There after you can use online sources or other students finishing up the semester ahead of you. In Foundations there are many resources that are bundled together that you need and from seeing others go the online route, they ended up spending more money buying all the components seperately. At the Orientation on Friday, we (TNSA) will be raffling the Kozier Foundations textbook and online component for $1 a ticket or 6 for $5.

Sorry to intrude on this thread but

To answer your question, it sounds like it is a raffle drawing. They sell tickets, who ever is interested buys them. If the number on the ticket matches your other half of the ticket when they draw it out of a hat, you get the foundations book for either $1.00 if your only purchased one ticket or for $6.00 if you purchased 5 tickets. 5 Tickets gives you a better chance to win!

Again, I don't mean to intrude. I'm applying to TCC in the spring :)

The Dreamer - no there is not an active placement program in place. They do help you get resumes together and focus on helping you find resources in your Complex semester but that is all that I know of.

XDJP- as far as the package goes I can not give you accurate information because they did not come up with the package ebooks deal until 2 semesters after I was in school so it was not somthing that was worth my while. They should be able to answer that question Friday.

LOLO- I knew you would get the call. CONGRATS from one fellow alternate to another.

VIVIAN- TNSA is raffeling the book away so the tickets are for a chance to win it. It is a way for TNSA to make money for activities for the semesters and pay for food and gifts for our monthly meetings.

welcome leatybug!!! im super excited as well! we have been on this for months worrying! lol!! xdjp... that should be fine i would think...jeans im sure would be ok! we will be sitting in a chair for hours.. oh and i went to scrubs ect... and the litts i could hear better on, my mom is worried that the ultrascopes arent going to be very professional, but i really want it bc its different, i was gonna ask on friday i guess. the lady there did say that litts get stolen alot...

Thanks lolocoro (got it right this time...lol.. sorry) good info; I have not had a chance to stop by there just yet, I may do so today. I was a little worried being a guy with this pimped out steth but, screw it I like them alot.(though i was not going to leap too far out there) I think you can be professional and an individual at once, plus as you alluded to the unique ultrascope would keep away predators. How different was the Litt vs. Ultrascope functionally.

Thank you xdjp and LoloCoro. I have been wondering about the dress attire as well. I think that comfortable clothing will be the best option. Like Lolo said, we will be sitting in a chair for hours. I think that I'm just going to purchase my steth from the TNSA. I know how it is trying to raise funds for a organization. Any little bit does help.

i dont know, i was worried about going outside the box with the ultrascope, the top of them are like a bubble,kinda weird to handle compared to the litts, also, i talked to my friend in the program already(shes a year in, and she said she prefers actual texts. they last forever if you need them and she likes putting notes in them and taking them to class she said... just some info i heard..about the stethoscope, i was gonna ask around friday..
