I just got through with my TEAS. I'm a bit apprehensive about getting in. My overall GPA (pre-reqs) is 3.66, my Science GPA is 3.75. I scored in the 98th percentile (national & program) overall on the TEAS. My breakdown for TEAS (percentile) is: Reading 92; Math 88; Science 99; English 94. I also have everything done except my fine arts elective, and I've taken Medical Terminology which is now supposed to give some sort of bonus points (I made an A in that.)
I know that however they weight all of this, you have to end up basically in the upper 1/4 of the applicants. My TEAS scores are good, but I hear so many people saying their GPA is 4.0 ... So I'm concerned.

Congrats on your score and your GPA. I don't believe you have a reason to fear with a science score of 99 and a high math score. You should relax now!
Best of luck to you both! I will be applying in the Spring for fall 11.
Would you mind telling me if the version you took for the teas was a 3.0/4.0 or is it the newer version, version 5.
That info will be very helpful as I want to prepare with the book for the right version.
Thank you so much and good luck on your application.
To theantichick: your gpa for the science is really good. And your TEAS
score is awesome. I think that your chance to get in nursing school is huge.
I did my TEAS today and i did terrible on the science part. What version
do you have on the TEAS 4 or 5? In the past, TCC is very picky about the elective part.
I have a friend, he did not finish PE and he got rejected that semester. Next semester,
he applied and got in. But i think with your GPA and TEAS score, you'll be fine.
Now i worried that the score on the Science part will hurt me...
To Loly82: The version i took today is version 5. I hear that they change it this week.
It hurts.... Reading, English, Math seem easy to me, but the science.... i'm not sure.
At first, i think i did ok, but then i see my score.... sooo disappointed. And TCC only let
me do the TEAS one time. I wish i can do it next time. It would be lot better.
Good luck everyone with the test.
I didn't notice what version I took today. I know that last fall, the study guide they sold was the 3/4. Thanks for the good thoughts about my scores. I hear so many people saying their GPA is 4.0 that it makes me self-conscious about my grades, and they're good. :) I finished my PE already, and the only reason I don't have my fine arts is because I elected to take foreign language (Spanish) since I want to do ER nursing, and it doesn't count until Spanish III. I'm finishing II up this semester, and will fit in III and IV when I can during RNing school.
Also, I've been hearing that either Spring or Fall 2011, all the RN classes will be at Trinity River. And that they're increasing the number of slots to 130/semester when that happens. I'm hoping this is really for Spring.

theantichick: They are accepting 130 students for Spring 2011 per Bev in the Nursing Department. They are also scheduled to move the Nursing Program to the Trinity River Campus in Fall 2011 and install a simulation hospital similar to UTA's BSN program. Of course, there is always a chance of delays or lack of funding to prolong either of those from happening, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!
it would be awesome if TCC take 130 students, it means that all of us will have more change
to get in to nursing school. I feel a little bit discourage about my TEAS score. I only got 80%
over all, and 70% for the science. I think it really hurt me for my chance to get in although my
GPA for the science is 4.0. Did anyone know that how TCC select applicants? Now i just close my eyes and pray....
Don't be so hard on yourself Vivian -- you might be surprised. I scored an 81% on the TEAS, and was accepted as an alternate for Weatherford College, who only admits 45-60 students per semester. You have to have faith in yourself!

Good luck guys!! All your scores seem really good, I don't think you'll have much to worry about! I'm in my first semester right now so I knowww how you feel!
These next 2 months are going to crawl by!! I can't wait until mid-November, then I can start stalking my mailbox! LOL!
Hi,
Did anybody know that TCC start to send the letters? My friend is got her rejection letter today...... I was shock.
She has a good GPA, and her TEAS score is higher than me, but she got rejected. It seemed like there would be a lot applicants with perfect GPA and TEAS score this year. Now I'm just sooo nervous. Keep praying everyday.
