  1. To anotherhopeful1: Check with Campus Bookstore about the Kozier Book for foundation. I bought the package that have Kozier Foundation book and my nursing lab for $150 for Spring 2011. Check with your pal that how much it cost for the whole package. For mine, the package and the book came together. If you dont have the My Nursing Lab code pack together with the book, check with the bookstore. Just some information they will tell you at the orientation, all the code you purchase for the course like My Nursing Lab, the Elkins for Skill. After buying these codes, put it in your folder, and never try to register before the class start. At the second week of clinical, the nursing data base coordinator will you guys how to register for it. I have a friend, she registered before and she got a lot of trouble because doing it ahead, fyi....
  2. Congrats all of yours to get in to TCC Nursing Program.:yeah::yeah: I remember last semester i was in your shoes right now with all exciting and little bit of nervous. When you go to the orientation, they will make you feel that it's impossible for us to make it through Foundation. Enjoy your break that you have right now and then prepare for nursing school in the fall. I just finish my Mental Health course right now, so i have some free time. I will check this site often. If you have any questions redarding books, supplies, or any question about the foundation class, feel free to ask me. Nursing school is not easy, but i can be done, that's how i feel. We got a very good group in our clinical. We won't got A in theory anymore, but the main thing is we're all passed and have a life.:redbeathe:lol2: Enjoy your break right now and i have all yours have a good time
  3. The Version for the TEAS will be TEAS V, it was the version i took for Fall 2010. It's a little different than the older version. The science part was longer and the english was shorter. For the science, no rocks question, there a lot earth science question... If you want to call TCC Nursing Department, call B-the secretary of Nursing Department. She's very nice and informative.
  4. Hi Stephanie, just a little confused:o why TNSA sale the ticket for Kozier Foundations textbook and online component????
  5. congratulation loco..... your wish comes true
  6. thanks a lot. You rock. I think study group will be a good idea.
  7. Can you post the address of the store that both have Littman and Ultrascope? I would like to go around and shop for it too Some of the textbooks for Foundation (Kozier) and Skills, they are pack together as a bundle at the bookstore. So if you buy the whole package,it would be cheaper, and they also have some online components like My Nursing lab. If we buy seperate online the cost may be the same so we can save our time too. These info I read it somewhere in all nurse forum. So I not sure about it. We may ask txmommyof3,she may have some good advice for us Im exciting to go to the orientation on Friday
  8. Just some question about books. i read some of the all posts, some of TCC Nursing students reccommend that they just buy the books at the book store due to online components? Did you guys look around for books yet? I usually buy textbooks online, but this time maybe something is different. To theantichick: did you order Unltracopes online? I now looking for a good sthelescope, so i don't know between Littman and ultrascope, do u think which one better? I hear my friend tell me that Nursing books are very pricey.... just nervous to go to the bookstore to see the price.
  9. You'll fine. Believe in yourself and you'll make it
  10. Lolocoro: i think your chance to get in is huge. At least 3 friends of mine apply both UTA and TCC, and when they know they got in UTA, they don't take TCC. So don't stress too much and waiting for the call:clown::clown:
  11. To theantichick, i just finish my second shot for Hepatitis B today, and i think i dont finish the Hep series before the school start:mad:. Call the Nursing Department today, and i have to do immunization waiver. Try to do my best for it. So all of you guys start doing your to do lists yet? 1. Get all the immunization done, complete healthform from the doctor. 2. Back ground check. 3. Get my CPR done. 4. Drug screening on Jan. There are a long lists for all of us to run:smokin: To txmommyof3: you'll finish soon huh:yeah::yeah: Do you have any advice for all of us? Books, study habit, do you think the ebook is really beneficial? I hope that i done with the immunization, so i can start school in Jan. any advice would be appreciate.
  12. Yeah....... I'm so exciting, got my accept letter today and i'mmmm in. I wish o check this forum earlier so that the average TEAS score of all applicants around 60s and 70s. I just stress out too much. But finally i get in. The waiting for the letter is terrible. Congratulation: theantichick and xdjp009. I hope i see you guys at the orientation. Did anybody finish 3 shots for Hepatitis B, i hear that we have to finish all the immunization before the school start.
  13. I think you can take A&P in the summer, but i think your advisor is right. I have a friend who take both AP 1&2 in the summer. She did not work, only take AP1 for summer 1, AP2 for summer 2. You wont have a life, everything just anatomy term... They only have 8 weeks, intense material, everything is fast. So be prepared for yourself, you can get an A if you try hard, and professor is important too. If you got an easy professor, it helps. However, think about this, what the knowledge you get after you finish this class?, can it prepared you for nursing school?. My favorite AP professor did not recommend me to do this. So it's just your choice. Good luck.
  14. Yep, i can not imagine that they send out the letter that early. As my knowledge that we will got the letter on first week of Dec, i feel it's still early though. And i check with my friend the reason why she not get accepted. TCC Nursing Department says that she did not finish English Comp I and Math. However, she did all finish them, just TCC registra and record mess up her transcript. I advice her to go to the Nursing Department and do an appeal. It's upset me because a student with 4.0 GPA and 90 TEAS score, it's impossible for her to get reject. Well, just my opinion. Now, keep checking my mailbox everyday until Dec.
  15. Hi, Did anybody know that TCC start to send the letters? My friend is got her rejection letter today...... I was shock. She has a good GPA, and her TEAS score is higher than me, but she got rejected. It seemed like there would be a lot applicants with perfect GPA and TEAS score this year. Now I'm just sooo nervous. Keep praying everyday.
