Hi everyone,
I will apply TCC Nursing school for Spring 2011. I will do my TEAS on 09/18 then apply.
Just want to share some info about your GPA, TEAS score, and some of the tips for the TEAS test.
I study a lot for the test but still nevous.... cross my finger.
My GPA overall: 4.0
TEAS score: i will know later
how bizarre about the FB. All nurses won't let me post the link here... I'm finding the group searching for 'Tarrant County' or 'Tarrant County Nursing' but if you message me on FB, I can send the link. My username on FB is the same as it is here, and my gmail addy (my username here at gmail.com) is linked to my FB as of yesterday.
Sorry we're having so much trouble.
antichick: thank you for the quick reply. I have been studying the book and as far as the conversions, I'll make sure to pretty much know most of them considering I will have to know them here in the near future for nursing school. Thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate that the guide in the book is so unpredictable for the science section. I went thru the first practice test yesterday for the science and it seems my brain has retained a lot of the AP and some of the micro content but is lacking a lot on the chemistry aspect. I had a horrible teacher so a lot was crammed into my head for tests without a good foundation. Oh well, I'm sure that lots of people experience this anxiety but I'm determined to do well. After all, it is the last hurdle I have to get through.
Xdjp006: Thank you for the reply. I appreciate the help I get from this board from complete strangers and the tip from the online test is the best. I had plans on purchasing it after I was done with all the studying to simulate the real test but was unsure how much it would really help. Now, I'm 100 % confident that I should spend the money and take it. quick question: at the end of the online test, do they include the questions you got wrong and info on what areas I need to brush up on more?
Congrats again on your acceptance, I hope to be in the program next fall :)
will do antichickloly, forgot to mention that the conversions are indeed on the test. The ones for nursing school are the simple ones with a couple of exceptions so no worries there. Don't remember an assessment of incorrect answers, but I know some of the questions on the online test show up again on the actual exam
Does anyone know if it's ok to put the patches on our uniforms with velcro? The dress code says "permanently affixed" so a literal interpretation would say no, but the patches will fade with repeated washing, won't they? I've had a lot of uniforms that had the patches on with a square of velcro the size of the patch, and no one could tell the difference, but made it a LOT easier to launder.
I am not sure if you are allowed to use velcro or not. As far at the patch fading, I have not had any problems with this and only have 3 scrub tops since foundations, so mine have had a ton of washing. I think the velcro is a great idea though. I would hold off until the 7th when the employees get back to the school and ask them.
Hello I applied for the Fall 2011 class. I'm sure all of you know exactly how stressed us new applicants are, so I was just wondering if any of you happen to know when camp success will be. I figure by knowing that, we can assume we should be notified at least two weeks before.......any info would be greatly appreciated!!
So, those of you in your first semester now, how's it going? Is it what you expected? or not? What do you wish you had known before you started? What do you wish you had done before you started? Any advice or warnings you have for those of us awaiting those envelopes holding our futures? Also, what kind of tech products do you have or wish you had for classes/clinicals: laptop (does size matter?), netbook, ipad, ipod touch (does it have to be w/o camera?), voice recorder, etc? Any cool apps you use for note taking, drug ref., etc? Have you discovered any advantages/disadvantages to particular hospitals' clinicals or to certain schedules in general? What have you been told about moving to the new campus? Thanks for any info you can share on these or related topics!
(I'd insert brain picking smiley here, if it existed!)
