Scholarships
Try going to zinch.com or fastweb.com. They have some scholarships listed there. Also if you are attending a community college, you may try looking into if you campus has a Phi Theta Kappa chapter. They offer tons of scholarships just for Phi Theta Kappa members.

Tarrant County College Applicants for Spring 2011
i contacted ms. c since she is my theory and clinical instructor, regarding the reference books. here is the exact response she gave me. this may be helpful for others as well. so glad to have you! here are a few suggestions to your questions. like you stated, there are quite a few resources to choose from. part of your decision may be guided by financial constraints or ease of access. since alot of your clinical paperwork will be completed outside of the hospital, you can utilize tcc's libraries resources, which are online. to access the tcc libraries, go to the main tcc portal and click on libraries. there you should find a page that is called [color=#0000cc]tarrant county college library catalog. you will have to log on to the library site using your student access and password. click on the link that states "find articles" (databases) . scroll down the middle until you find "health & nursing" & then click on the link under it that states "nursing reference center". [color=#0000cc] nursing reference center click on the link above and you will find the nursing reference center. it contains resources, books, a drug handbook by davis, and a laboratory book by davis. these are free for you to utilize. to have a hardcopy of a drug hand book is recommended while you are at the clinical site, although the hospital does have resources there. the one i recommend (and the one all of your other courses in the future will be utilizing) is : lexi-comp drug information handbook for nursing, 12th ed., turkoski it has an online or pda version if you want to purchase it. you can wait until our first day before you make any big decisions. you will not need these for a few weeks.

I went to Life Uniform on Cooper Street. They have a good selection of the teal scrub pants and white tops. I decided to go with the Nurse mates shoes. I tried on the shoes that they had there and the Nurse Mates were the most comfortable to me. The shoes just need to be all white, leather with no open toe or heal. That leaves it wide open to whatever you are most comfortable in. I think comfy shoes are going to be a must. :)

Any universities or hospitals that have scholarships for transfers
The best advice I can give you about transfering is look into if you college has a Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Phi Theta Kappa is the academic honor society for 2 year colleges. They offer so much money for transfer students to attend 4 year institutions. The majority of 4 years, offer scholarships just for being a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Each chapter has different requirements as far as GPA and cost. You can find out more info out it at ptk.org.

Thank you xdjp and LoloCoro. I have been wondering about the dress attire as well. I think that comfortable clothing will be the best option. Like Lolo said, we will be sitting in a chair for hours. I think that I'm just going to purchase my steth from the TNSA. I know how it is trying to raise funds for a organization. Any little bit does help.
