Hey all..... just decided to start a thread for all of us you are finishing up prereqs and plan on applying in Spring 2010 for admission into the Fall 2010 semester. Just a place to vent frustrations and post up good news. Just follow the format
Taking:
API
APII (spring): taking both over and hope for A's
Biochem/Organic Chem
Plan on applying Jan 2010 to LIU-Brooklyn and the College of New Rochelle ....but I am hoping to get into LIU:D
NEXT.....
I'll be applying to the University of Colorado-Denver for their BSN program. The applications have just opened up, and have until Nov when they close (but I plan on putting it in at the beginning of Sept). I'm hoping to get into the Summer 2010 program.
Currently taking: Micro, AP2, Psych
Fall: Algebra, HG&Dev, English 2, Anthro and Art appreciation
Spring: Western Civ, Philosophy, Stats, Sociology and Music appreciation (may take interpersonal comm to get my AS)
I will have all my sciences complete at the end of this term and I will have to send them a copy of my transcripts at the end of every session... I guess to keep tabs on my GPA. I'm so excited but I have to do an essay and I'm nervous about that, its weighted heavily I hear.
now: english, psych, speech
fall09:ap1, human growth and development, and critical thinking
spring10:ap2, chemistry for health sciences
then I can apply for the program starting in the fall, and in the mean time in the summer10, i can take microbiology and maybe a nutrition or medical terminology course too. :) yayy
Hello!
I am currently taking pre-req's to apply this winter, starting Fall of 2010. Coming up I have A&P I, II and Microbiology. Already have a bachelors so those are really all I need to take (depending on which school I get into). My GPA from my bachelors isn't the greatest (I'll have right around a 3.1 when I apply to nursing schools) and I just took the NET yesterday. Fingers crossed - I got an 86 composite on the practice exam, but that was from a 97 in math and a 74 in reading. I don't even know that I did that good on the exam - not feeling great about it. But am scheduled to take it again in August. I had a stupid panic attack in the middle of the exam. I need to look into signing up for the TEAS as well.
I am applying to all the nursing programs in the area (BSN and ADN), but I am really leaning towards getting the associates now, and then doing a bachelors or maybe even a masters bridge after, hopefully online. I'm in the Atlanta area and I really haven't found second-degree bachelors program in the area that seems doable (cost/distance/I can get accepted).

Wow...seems like you will be busy. In understand you whole thing on going for and ADN because of lack of $$$. I am purposefully not graduating from college yet in the hopes that I get into a BSN nursing program. If I do get in I will still be eligible for Pell and stuff.
Good luck and keep us posted.
ok...i'm going to give it a go again this semester and try not to let pesky legal personal problems (like estranged husband taking me to court:p) get in the way.
