Taking prereqs and applying spring 2010 for fall 2010

Published

Hey all..... just decided to start a thread for all of us you are finishing up prereqs and plan on applying in Spring 2010 for admission into the Fall 2010 semester. Just a place to vent frustrations and post up good news. Just follow the format

Taking:

API

APII (spring): taking both over and hope for A's

Biochem/Organic Chem

Plan on applying Jan 2010 to LIU-Brooklyn and the College of New Rochelle ....but I am hoping to get into LIU:D

NEXT.....

I'm currently taking AP1, Stats (ugh!), and my CNA certification. I'm hoping to get into an accelerated program for summer or fall of 2010. It feels so far away so I'm really excited this topic is up!! For those of you in Westchester, NY, I am strongly considering applying to the College of New Rochelle's accelerated program, any thoughts about the school or program? Also, in response to the online prerequisites; I really have no choice since I'm working full time but I read that the most important thing is to print out the syllabi from your courses so you can show the potential schools and also that they strongly prefer that Microbiology is taken in class instead of online. Definitely varies from school to school though :)

hey, y'all - i'm another fall 2010 hopeful!

like radiationrn2be, i'm at austin community college. i have some pre-reqs done from my first time at college, and have completed anatomy and physiology at acc (although physiology darn near killed me - the professor was legendary, to say the least). i'm taking pharmacology and hgad this summer, and will take intro to micro in the fall. that will complete all my pre- and co-reqs.

i'm starting to get anxious, thinking that everyone else applying will have a 4.0 in all their pre- and co-reqs. since some of my classes are from my first and not-so-illustrious college career, i'll be applying with a 3.67.

Purkinje-dont count yourself out 3.67 is a darn good GPA!

I'm taking prereqs now for either Spring 2010 or Fall 2010 depending on which school I can get into. I'm actually hoping a bit for the (have to apply and interview for this school in Jan.) Fall school because that's a public school and would save me $$ but the Spring school moves fast.

I've already applied once, didn't get in this fall. I already have all my nursing pre req's done. Now I'm working on my Psych Degree while I wait.

I'm taking Intro to Speech, Fund. Concepts of Math, Intro to Soc. and Med Term, right now. This fall I'm taking Abnormal Psych, Statistic(psych) Intro to Philosophy, Intro to Phlebotomy and lab Assistant classes. Total of 15 credits. I'm taking 12 right now for the summer. :(

Hopefully once I take the Teas test again, I will be a go getting in. I have a 3.5 gpa.

hi everyone! thought i join in on the discussion. i've been lurking allnurses for quite sometime. great place to get a wealth of information. looking into the Accelerated BSN programs myself.

currently taking: development psych

fall 2009 schedule will hopefully consist of: ap i, micro., nutrition

spring 2010: ap ii, maybe ethics and stats (need to check college transcripts for grades on those)

i'm in the washington, dc area. i'm pretty sure i'll be applying to around 5 or 6 accel. bsn programs: virginia commonwealth (vcu), george mason u. (gmu), georgetown, hopkins (jhu), emory. anyone else here applying to the same ones!? it would be good to share thoughts on the schools. overall, i'm very excited about nursing school! long term, i would like to be a critical care nurse inthe navy (or airforce) and eventually a crna! can't wait to get there. :-)

Anyone gone school shopping yet :) I am going to go pick up some highlighters ect. Walmart has some great deals!

Coloradogrl -- thanks for the vote of confidence. :nuke: And I am right there with you on school supply shopping, I love it! I think my real motivation for going back to school was so I could haunt the school supply aisle at Target ...

Coloradofrl-

I'm taking Microbiology online this Summer. It is a lot of reading to keep up with. It gives me more time to focus on what I need to, instead of the wasting time reviewing the stuff I already understand in class.

We have a sales tax free weekend in August every year here in Tennessee, I'm going to hit Target hard for supplies and clothes.

I plan to obtain get my BSN. I stated with 24 classes Jan. '09.

Inter. Algebra A & P I and Lab Micro & Lab World Lit

Eng. Comp I. Human Growth and Dev. Gen Bio & Lab Marr. & Fam.

Speech A & P II and Lab Eng Comp II

World Civ.II

It's a lot for one semester but I am doning good and trying to finish as soon as possible to apply for the fall of 2010.

Trice you are going to have a full load this Fall :) how many credits is that total? I took a overload of credits once it was hard but I did it.

I am trying to only take 12 credits/full time so I can keep my GPA up. I have been going back and forth about adding another but I think I am going to keep it at 12
