Hey all..... just decided to start a thread for all of us you are finishing up prereqs and plan on applying in Spring 2010 for admission into the Fall 2010 semester. Just a place to vent frustrations and post up good news. Just follow the format

Taking:

API

APII (spring): taking both over and hope for A's

Biochem/Organic Chem

Plan on applying Jan 2010 to LIU-Brooklyn and the College of New Rochelle ....but I am hoping to get into LIU:D

NEXT.....

I'm so glad application time is close enough for us to have our own board, LOL.

Right now- Microbiology and English Comp

Fall 09- A&P I and Statistics

Spring 10- A&P II and Psychology

I just registered today to take my pre-admission exam. I know it's a test and all, but I'm getting excited!

Specializes in Radiation Oncology.

Hi!!

I am currently taking bogus co-reqs right now this summer. Intro to Psych, Spanish 1, and Speech. My last pre-req is Physiology this fall. At my school, Austin Community College, Anatomy and Physiology are separate. Then I take my HESI entrance exam, send in my application, take the Nursing Skills class, and hope for a fall 2010 start!! I already have taken Anatomy, Pharmacology, and Intro to Microbiology. I am so ready to get started with the nursing classes!!

Well I kinda understand you. I am also tired of taking prereqs and some of the seem silly like speech, philosphy, etc.. But I would rather have all the prereqs out the way then to be taking nursing classes and some stupid liberal arts at the same time. So it looks stupid and feels like a waste of time but in the long run I guess it is better for us. Nursing classes by themselves are gonna be stressful enough.

Taking:

Now: A&P I

Fall: A&P II, Psych, and Statistics (then I'm eligible to apply)

Spring: Micro and Speech (then all pre-reqs are done!)

(Still working out the Statistics - have to test out of Intermediate Algebra to go right into it)

Plan on applying by March 1, 2010 to St Petersburg College (Florida) and maybe Pasco Hernando CC, though SPC would be my first choice (proximity).

Good luck on you pre-admin test Lee2.....and I hope you get in a program.....we need more men in the field. Good luck in AP and I can give you advice about AP......study and don't fall behind on reading. In plenty of schools/programs AP I& APII are the first "weeding out" courses. Allot of people say "Oh I wanna do nursing" and then are not willing to put the time and effort in studying in order to do well and AP ( which is so important for pathophysiology) and they end up flunking out and/or changing majors.

But I am sure all of us on this post will do well and in Spring 2010 we all will be posting "YAY..I GOT IN......I AM AN OFFICIAL NURSING STUDENT"..............

Hi ladies, I plan on applying in the spring 2010 for the Fall admission.

Now: GOBC I ( got an A) GOBC II still in session.

Fall: A&P I, and co-reqs Humanities in the Western tradition, and Developmental Psych.

Spring: A&P II, and co-reqs Ethics, and a cultural diversity class.

I am so excited to get the process starting, as I expect all of us are. I am so very thankful for my dear husband, or busts his behind to take care of everything financially while I am back in school, and I am thankful for my children, because if it wasn't for them I would not have followed my dream of becoming a nurse.
