It's finally here: TEST DAY! I take NCLEX tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. I graduated a few weeks ago and am ready to close the door on "nursing student" and open the door marked of "registered nurse".
For those getting ready for NCLEX, I learned something valuable today: DO NOT ASSUME YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR TEST SITE IS! My test site is less than 15 minutes from my house (although with traffic and lights it can be closer to 30 minutes, even longer during rush hour.) I'm so glad I did a test drive today! I realized it wasn't exactly where I thought nor was it on the side of the street I thought it was. Granted for some streets that's not a big deal but 1) it's on a major thoroughfare, 2) I'll be heading there during morning traffic, and 3) the direction I came from made making a U-turn a challenge. Once I finally got to the office park, I drove around and around trying to find the correct building -- there are several small buildings that are all part of the office park. After 10 minutes of driving through parking lots, I finally found it. Had this been tomorrow morning, I probably would have been in tears, worried about being late. Now I know exactly where to go so I can plan my morning accordingly. Relief!
I'll post again after my test. I'm most likely NOT going to do "the trick". If it shows the good pop up, I'll be stressed about whether or not it's right and if it takes my credit card I'll be stressed about failing. I've heard my state posts fairly quickly, often earlier than the quick results. If 48 hours have passed and I don't see my name, then I'll pay for QR.
My husband and kids are the only people who know I'm testing. I wanted to keep it to myself until it was over.
I'll let you know!
Hey Runner, congrats!!! Good for you! Quick question. You said you did Kaplan. Do you mind sharing your scores on qtrainers etc? I got a 98% of passing on my exit ATI, but my kaplan scores have not been stellar (63 on average) and are not improving. Slightly discouraged.
I only did a Kaplan book that I had. I don't even know what the q trainers are!
Seriously the BEST advice! When I took mine I went the day before thinking it would be easy to find. I went around in circles for over an hour until I got a hold of a friend and found out it was on the second floor of another business with only a teeny tiny little sign on the side of the building. It was literally the last building I would have guessed it would be in within that business complex.
Congrats! Taking my test tomorrow am and I am scared to death of the SATA. Everything I have done from the HESI to the Kaplan readiness has indicated a high probability of passing but I am beyond scared.
I had to take the ATI predictor test and it showed a 99% chance of passing. I didn't do HESI or Kaplan so I can't say anything about those. About 80% of my test was prioritization, SATA, and alternate format. I don't know of any good way to prepare for SATA. All you can do is look at each answer as a YES/NO and click accordingly.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
This thread is so inspiring. I would love to see more January test takers posting here.
To the op, you have such a positive attitude. Before and after the exam. My hands are clammy just typing this. I really need to calm down. Some days I am ridiculously calm and doing stellar on practice questions.
Some days I'm questioning my life because I'm anxious and do horrible on practics questions. I would literally look the right answer in the face and click the wrong one. Whyyyyy ughhhhh!
congrats to you and everyone else who posted here and passed!!

Thanks for the sweet words! I felt as prepared as I possibly could be the day I graduated. Because of that, I didn't have the nerves that so many people have not did I feel like I needed to spend weeks or month studying for it. Yes, I had a nervous stomach the morning of the test but once I sat down and started the test, any nervousness was gone. I knew my school had prepared me well. :)

I was able to do quick results at 9:00 a.m. this morning, 49 hours after my test. PASS!
