Taking NCLEX Jan 7th

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

It's finally here: TEST DAY! I take NCLEX tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. I graduated a few weeks ago and am ready to close the door on "nursing student" and open the door marked of "registered nurse".

For those getting ready for NCLEX, I learned something valuable today: DO NOT ASSUME YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR TEST SITE IS! My test site is less than 15 minutes from my house (although with traffic and lights it can be closer to 30 minutes, even longer during rush hour.) I'm so glad I did a test drive today! I realized it wasn't exactly where I thought nor was it on the side of the street I thought it was. Granted for some streets that's not a big deal but 1) it's on a major thoroughfare, 2) I'll be heading there during morning traffic, and 3) the direction I came from made making a U-turn a challenge. Once I finally got to the office park, I drove around and around trying to find the correct building -- there are several small buildings that are all part of the office park. After 10 minutes of driving through parking lots, I finally found it. Had this been tomorrow morning, I probably would have been in tears, worried about being late. Now I know exactly where to go so I can plan my morning accordingly. Relief!

I'll post again after my test. I'm most likely NOT going to do "the trick". If it shows the good pop up, I'll be stressed about whether or not it's right and if it takes my credit card I'll be stressed about failing. I've heard my state posts fairly quickly, often earlier than the quick results. If 48 hours have passed and I don't see my name, then I'll pay for QR.

My husband and kids are the only people who know I'm testing. I wanted to keep it to myself until it was over.

I'll let you know!

What materials did you use to study? I'm using Kaplan my test is on Monday. I'm super nervous as my questions trainers range from 50-69% on question trainer 7 I scored 50.6% I had to stop a few times and ended up falling asleep and waking up to finish it at 2:30

I "studied" by doing practice questions and practice tests from ATI, Lippincott, NCSBN, and a Kaplan book for 2 weeks before the test. I didn't do the q trainers and have no idea what they are. I didn't look at LaCharity or Saunders.

Hi I just want to ask you a question. I took my NCLEX-PN exam on friday and unfortunately I did not get a good pop up. I took NCLEX-pn I had the same questions as yours 1 ekg, several SATA and put in order. I remember when I answered my one and only EKG question, I wasn't quite sure of my answer. If I really answered it incorrectly do you think the computer will give me another question for that? I had the minimum questions for NCLEX-PN which is 85. I would appreciate to hear your thoughts. Thank you so much! This is an agony. Can't eat, can't sleep.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear you didn't pass. :( As far as the next time you test, you may get no EKG questions, you may get a lot of them. Questions are random. Review EKGs just in case!
