EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON

i also failed on the first try. it really hurts. i felt bad! i felt depressed..

To all of you who failed the NCLEX here, was the PVT "trick" accurate for you? Did you get to the credit card screen?

i thought peds was hard because it was done in a very short period of time (at my school). google erikson's stages of growth and development, child development/milestones, immunization schedule, and common childhood illnesses. the material isn't really hard (most is just straight memorization), there is just a lot of it. it seemed that people who have children had an easier time with it because some of the info was familiar to them already. looking up that stuff is enough to get you started. you'll get through it, good luck!

can you remember what questions you were asked? pls let me know

wao! You will make it the next time by God's grace. its just a lot to read.

Hi Everyone..!!

I'm in the same place as a few of you, not passing NCLEX!!

Does anyone know where to get the new Saunders CD to do practice questions..?

Many of you spoke highly of NCSBN. What do they provide..??

Have FAITH everyone we WILL all PASS boards..!!

LaCharity's book "Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment" is EXTREMELY valuable for NCLEX prep. The title says it all. These are skills that seem to be almost completely absent in many of the content-only review programs. Kaplan is also worth its weight in gold in developing these skills (especially their "Decision Tree" which is the backbone of their review course). Those 2 resources will really help you develop the skills to work through the higher level application and analysis (passing level) questions. I think one of the best ways to prepare is to FORCE yourself to use a step-by-step systematic approach (like Kaplan's decision tree) on EVERY single question you practice (even the ones where you think you immediately recognize the correct answer). You want these strategies to become habit. Then when you take the test and you're totally nervous, you will be able to force yourself to step back, not panic, and systematically work through the question to eliminate wrong answers without rushing. Remember, even if you only eliminate ONE wrong answer on a 4-choice multiple choice question, you have greatly increased your odds of choosing the right answer. If you eliminate 2 answers, your odds are now 50/50. There will be questions where you don't instantly know the right answer. But you will greatly increase your chances of passing if you can slow yourself down and knock off some of the wrong answers.

Hey, I have failed boards as well about three times. I have not taken them in about 5 years, signing up for the Hurst Review and I know I will pass this time I feel like Im ready to conquer everything. Any advice?
