I just graduated chairty and passed the nclex. I promise you that going downtown is not scary and there are always a ton of people around. The only thing I didn't like was the parking situation (best to park at the Church for $3). I was never bothered by anyone. I am selling some nclex prep books (they are great for learning how to answer test questions at charity) if anyone is interested. I listed them on craigslist under books. Good luck!

HighlyFavor2011: "Does anyone have any information regarding " Making room assignments" I need clarification on this!" basically you can put 2 people in the same room if they are (both) not contagious (MI and asthma) or if they have the same illness. you do Not ever want to put someone who is immunocompromised (HIV, cancer) with someone with an infectious disease (herpes, pneumonia). it is best to put someone like this in a private room but if that's not possible, put them with someone who is not contagious (asthma, HF). make sense? you never want to put a immunocomprised person with someone who can make their condition worse. if you look through any nclex prep book they have a ton of questions that will help you figure it out.

gita2420: i'm so sorry for your luck. i take it for the 1st time on tues. and i'm scared..can totally relate to the whole 'the more you study the more you get confused' thing. i am doing the NCSBN online program. a friend recommended it to me and i'm finding it really helpful. you pay for it (i'm doing the 3wk for $50). she said she felt that these ques. were most like nclex.

did you do the pearson trick to find out if you pased? if so, how long did you wait after taking the test to check it? i take nclex on tues. and i'm wondering when the earliest time is that i can try to re-register to see if i passed...thoughts???

charjoe56: i thought peds was hard because it was done in a very short period of time (at my school). google erikson's stages of growth and development, child development/milestones, immunization schedule, and common childhood illnesses. the material isn't really hard (most is just straight memorization), there is just a lot of it. it seemed that people who have children had an easier time with it because some of the info was familiar to them already. looking up that stuff is enough to get you started. you'll get through it, good luck!
