Ok guys/gals
First of all, congrats on making thru NS>
Ist semester of NS is almost over.Yeah!
Next semester we start Med/Surg and Pharmacology, etc. I am hearing that Med/Surg is really tough. Besides your textbook, what supplemental book or method/habit really helped u or made it(ms/surg) easy to understand or handle?
We have 3 weeks xmas break, what's your recommendation while I am on xmas break?
Tks

Hi,
Learn the nursing interventions and how you would care for the patient. The drugs along with pathophysiology. Med-Surg Made Easy is a wonderful book too use.:wink2:
I also use Med-Line plus for additional help.

I refer to Saunders comprehensive review for the NCLEX-RN examination & Medical-surgical nursing reviews & rationales pretty often - outline form, easy to find what I'm looking for when I don't want to sift through the Iggy (big) medsurg text. Filters it down to the most important stuff.
For pharm, everyone always says to learn about the characteristics of drug families first then learn the individual drugs (antilipidemics, antibiotics, antivirals, bronchodilators, etc. etc.).

I agree...also NCLEX books, cards, anything you can get ahold of...do NCLEX questions all the time. My teachers for ALL of our tests uses NCLEX type questions...I think this is pretty standard. MS is a class where you learn what you would do as the nurse so think practical!
I agree, this book is published by Prentice Hall right? This is a great book.. It is also a series..they have Mother and child nursing, peds, med surg, patho...they are all excellent!!
