Just wanted to know: Who got 75 questions pass or fail, how much time did it take you to complete the exam, any math? Thanks~
I just took the exam on July 31. My stomach has been in a huge knot ever since. I had 75 questions, but I haven't gotten the quick results yet. Like I said, I had 75 questions. Had at least 6-8 (maybe more...I lost count after awhile..there were several, all of them difficult). I had a few pharmacology related questions, some disease process questions, several prioritization and delegation, and what seemed like a lot of infection control questions. All this took about an hour and a half. I felt that it was a difficult exam. I pray that I passed.
ps...I had only one math related question.
who ever said if u fail you are a bad nurse, as and international student i failed the first try but did it again 2 mths thereafter and pass with 89 questions. But I noted on this site that some ppl are repeating the exam 4, 5 and six times that why I posed the question. It is harder for us here because some of the diagnostic test are not available here in my country did not study them in school and 75 % of the medication are not available or are not used here in the hospital. There are lots more disease and condition in the USA that are not seen here in the hospital only read the m in books or heard about it on tele or websites.Doesn't this answer why we do not pass on the first try. lol
Its is not that you guys are scholars but u have a curriculum that are well develop to suit your need.
Believe it or not MOST nursing students dont know about this website, have you ever looked at how many members there are?? Its only by word of mouth. Or when someone fails, they go online looking for support and find allnurses. So if you are seeing someone say they failed numerous times, its a very SMALL percentage of the population. And BTW on this website, I see way more international students repeating the exam 4,5,6 times. Not very many USA educated. Guess you and I arent reading the same posts. And just so you know, just because there are more diseases and conditons in the USA, DOES NOT MEAN a US nursing student will see it. We learn from books just like you.
We are ALL human.
i don't even understand why this question was posted!!
i think everyone needs to keep in mind that the number of questions you have on the nclex...really doesn't mean anything. whether you are u.s. born/raised or a foreigner, the goal is to pass--whether you have 75...or 265 questions!!!
someone asked about the pilot questions....
as you complete questions 1-75 of your nclex exam, there are 15 questions that will be thrown out. in essence, you are graded on only 60 questions if the machine cuts off at 75. from question 76-265, there are no more pilot questions.
for those who run out of time when they take the nclex, for the sake of fairness, this is the reason why you are only graded on the last 60 questions that you answered on the exam.

I took the NCLEX RN on July 7th and had 75 questions, I was there for 90 minutes. I had 10 or more select all that apply(quit counting after the first 10), 10 or more meds(some I didn't know), 10 or more infection control, 1 drag and drop, lots of teaching, some peds and psych, but no math or OB. I actually felt really good while I was taking the test, not sure if it is because I told myself before hand that I was not going to know everything or not...THe thing is, you have to set yourself up to pass, not to fail. If you tell yourself that things are getting to hard, then you start to get discouraged. Try to stay confident thoughout the test. I left the center feeling like I passed, which was odd because most say they feel like they failed. I went home and did the pearson trick which indicated I passed, and 2 days later on JULY 9th I was posted on the BON website with a permanent license...I PASSED:nurse:
So good luck to all!!! STAY confident, you can do this!
