I looked around hoping to find a thread but only found previous years. I applied early September for the program and have seen been playing the waiting game. I'd like to hear from others who applied, maybe I can help answer some questions and we can all offer each other support.
Thanks so much! @Alisha299. My apologies. I just saw your response. I applied for the Spring 2019 semester. As of now, my Pace application is still in review. I applied in August and got the interview email early October. I received a waiting list response within a week and a half. I emailed them and theey said they will have a final response by December 5.
Hi @financetonurse123. I'm on the same boat. I graduated out of Stony with a PSY degree. Worked in title insurance for 5-6 years and decided that it is not for me. I have an overall 3.4 GPA, As in all of my prereqs including Orgo, and a 87.9 TEAs score (orgo and TEAs not required for this program). I did not receive an interview yet. I wouldn't be discouraged to apply to the program because I am not sure what the admission counselors are looking for or who is reviewing it. Just be sure to have backup plans A, B, and Cs in order. I applied to a total of 8 schools. Also, it is helpful to stand out in your applications with a terrific personal statement and some great extracurricular activities.
If you don't get accepted to their or any accelerated program, apply to their basic baccalaureate programs. If you try very hard, you'll land somewhere good or where you're supposed to be.
So far, Farmingdale has been greatly organized. I already completed my pre-clinical learning modules. I hope that other programs do this too to familiarize yourself with the hospital policies and software.
Good luck everyone!
Thank you so much for your advice, Nurse Joy! I mean, Ochoa.
I am looking to apply to 6 schools for ABSN then 1 basic (stony brook) in the event I don't get into anything. I've been looking at some threads from previous years and see people with extracurricular activities and a 3.8+ gpa and still not get in... like you said, we don't know what admissions counselors are looking for and I'm sure their standards change based on the applying class -shrug-
Haha good one! You're very welcome. Absolutely, you just have to apply and hope for the best.
The good thing about Stony is that their application times for ABSN and Reg BSN are far apart by months. So if you don't get in for ABSN, you can submit your BSN application right after or when the applications re-open.
Anyone else really nervous??? Also, what did everyone think about the math section?
OH yes @futurenursing4! I've been checking my application and solar account on a normal basis in hopes there will be some clue on status. I was in such a panic for the math and the writing sample that I have no idea. The topic and questions weren't difficult but the time went so quickly and it's hard to remain authentic and accurate in such a setting. We shall see! How are you feeling?
I'm really a perfectionist and really critical of myself so in my opinion I'm usually not thrilled with how I do even if I do well. So I'm feeling pretty down on how I did on the interview and math. The topics were pretty simple but time definitely was a huge factor. I thought the writing went well in my opinion. Even if I did well on the other components I just love to be so critical :/. How are you feeling?

I got into a farmingdale but Stony Brook is my #1 choice. I hope they did not make final decisions already because I'd be devastated
