SUNY-Stony Brook ABSN Class of 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I looked around hoping to find a thread but only found previous years. I applied early September for the program and have seen been playing the waiting game. I'd like to hear from others who applied, maybe I can help answer some questions and we can all offer each other support.

Anyone else having their interview tmr at 10?

I do! See you there!

Goodluck!!!

Anyone know how many questions and people in our group interview? Hearing a lot of different things.

Also since the whole process takes like 2 hours are we going to get any sort of restroom break?

Yes, good luck to everyone tomorrow! From previous years' threads, there are 4-5 people in our group and they'll ask us 5-8 questions. The interview is about a full hour, and we have about 50 minutes to complete the math and writing portions, leaving 10 minutes of down time. Are you hearing something different? I'm so excited. Anyone else dealing with nerves tonight?!

Definitely very nervous as well! I heard about the same things. Also curious if some people get the math and writing sample before the actual interview and was specifically wondering if we get a little break between the math and writing sample and interview

Hello Fellow Applicants!

I interviewed earlier this week. The interview consisted of 4-5 questions and took exactly an hour. According to the coordinator and interviewers, all applicants have been invited to interview (160 interviewees and 80 seats to fill). There were 800 applicants and they will be taking 10%. About 10 minutes after the interview you are brought into another room and start a writing sample (25 minutes) immediately followed by a 25 minute math assessment (decimals, fractions, percentages and knowing how to divide and subtract them - exactly what they say in the email they send out with the interview invitation).

Hope this helps to calm some nerves. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing! I'm trying to remain hopeful to receive an interview. It's great to hear that they're still holding them.

Thanks so much! If you don't mind answering, what types of questions did they ask? I've looked at threads from previous years and haven't found much. I'm sure they change the questions between interview days/years, but I want to try and get as close an idea as possible!

Hi! I'm so sorry, just saw this. I stopped getting emails when someone posted for some reason! From what I remember there was super super simple solving for x equations but nothing really crazy.

Good luck to everyone on their interviews!

Hi Eileen!

Do you happen to remember when you received your admissions decision? Was it in December or before?

Thanks!

They told everyone at the interviews to expect a response sometime near Christmas and up to the New Year.

Hi! I got mine on December 27th :)

Seeing this made me extremely sad as I didn't get an email for an on-site interview or anything
