I looked around hoping to find a thread but only found previous years. I applied early September for the program and have seen been playing the waiting game. I'd like to hear from others who applied, maybe I can help answer some questions and we can all offer each other support.
I got an email today as well. I got placed on the alternate list. Ugh crying. That is just a nice way of saying ..sorry but your not gettting into this program..right?
That's not true! During interviews they mentioned a high percentage of the alternates are offered spots in the program, and notice is often (but not always) provided fairly last minute. If the ABSN at SB is your dream, don't lose hope. I'm sorry you're on the alt list, but, it's so much better than a denial letter. Look at this as a positive, and I wish you the best of luck.

Hi everyone. I thought I would it pay forward by posting on this thread for future applicants. I submitted my application the day of the deadline October 4 at 11 pm, 11:59pm was the deadline. I received an email to come in for an interview on October 12 in the afternoon, I persoanlly thought thzt was quick. I have a bachelors degree in biology and have repeated some classes as well as have taken additional classes to boost my gpa. I have a CNA and EMT liscence and submitted 4 letter of recommendations. 3 from work and 1 from a professor. I have vollunteered at a hospital. The day of the interview I was informed that about 800 applicants applied and about 160 of us was called for an interview which was primarily because of our gpa. I had asked the interviewer this question again and yes we were selected mainly because of our high gpa. The 1 hour interview was friendly but intense. We had to quickly answer questions and thoroughly, i tied it down to my experience in healthcare. Be as genuine as possible. I thought the candidates were all good so I am not sure as to how they evaluate us. One of the interviewers took down notes while the other listened. They will give their feedback to the dean who would make the final decision. We were later taken to the computet lab room where we typed our essay in 25 minutes. I was distracted by the nosise of the other candidste's typing a bit. Time flew by quick I didn't indent my first paragraph or double spaced. Yes still killing myself over it. I wasn't too pleased with my essay and wished I practiced more typing and memorized my personal essay. The math questions were a bit difficult to do without a calculator in 25 minutes. I unfortunately missed a few questions. I hope they would take a look of my application and personal essay again when making a decision. Decisions are said to come in via email informing of either acceptance or rejection. This should give us time to apply to the 2 year BSN program if we are not accepted to the accelerated. Wish everyone luck!
