hi all
has anyone received a response yet from Downstate for the 2011 ABSN Program? Since it starts in June I would have guessed decisions were already made, but havent heard anything yet.
congrats to everyone that got in! i'm still waiting to hear.
for everyone that got accepted, did you notice your checklist changed to include a "new student/alternate checklist including things like deposit, immunizations" prior to receiving your acceptance letter? i contantly monitor my checklist but have yet to see anything!

I noticed on my checklist that there was a new student/alternate section.. that appeared about a week or so before I got my acceptance packet in the mail in late january. I just found out this week that I was accepted to my first choice ABSN school ..so Ive decided to go there instead.. Good luck to everyone!! :) Were all one step closer to becoming nurses
apparently the changes on the checklist do not necessarily happen b4 you receive your pack. while some see the changes b4 they receive their letter, mine didnt change until a week AFTER.
as far as what they're looking for, last year the average gpa was supposedly about 3.5 - teas is uncertain, because version IV way different tracking than V, but what the adm people have said is that 80-85% on math and science is considered ok. iow, wont disqualify you if your gpa's are all strong (cume/prereq/science-prereqs).
Hi asr212.
I received my letter via first class mail.
For gpas it's fuzzy because I don't know exactly how they calculate them, undergrad, prereqs, or overall combined??
So I did not bother calculating but I'm estimating my undergrad ~3.2, unextraordinary. For my prerequisites I had all As & two Bs and I didn't calculate either.
My teas scores were: Reading 93%, Math 96.7%, Science 87.5%, and English 66.7% , with an individual of 87.3%.
I don't know if this helps or confuses things more, and who knows how they decide.
So what are your credentials like?
I don't know if you're applying to more schools or only SUNY but just keep positive thoughts and that acceptance letter will arrive!
I sent my application in like a week before Jan 17th. I noticed on my application that it was sent to the nursing committee on Jan 26th. So I'm just waiting to hear back from them. Best of luck to everyone!!!
Hi all! I'm new to this thread and thought I'd chime in. Jade - I sent in my application a week before the 17th as well and it was forwarded to the committee around the same time as yours...I'm still waiting to hear back also. No changes on my checklist yet. Let's hope we hear soon since it seems the decisions have been rolling out! Good luck to you and everybody else! And congrats to those who have been accepted :)
