Just curious as to what everyone is taking. I am pretty much done with my prereqs-did all my science classes (except Chem) in one year with a 3.2 science GPA! I am trying to start nursing school in the spring (I still have to apply) and the only classes I need is Chem I and Ethics. So all the other classes are just ones I thought looked interesting.
Summer:
Chem I at a college in my hometown (not my usual school)
volunteering at the hospital
working (need to find a job)
maybe volunteering at a disabled children's center
finishing an online class I need for nursing school
planning my wedding (its in January, but I am doing everything this summer since I am not in town where the wedding will be held in the Fall)
Fall:
Ethics (required)
Issues in Parenting (a 400 level class)
Developmental Psychopathology (a.k.a. abnormal child psych) (a 500 level)
Aerobic Kickboxing (hi-ya!!!)
physiology lab (for now-I might drop it sense i don't need it for the school I am applying for in the Spring) (I took Anatomy and Phys. seperately-only Anatomy lab is required)
volunteering at the hospital
planning the rest of my wedding

I am just starting my prereqs. I will be taking nutrition in a 3 week mini semester starting May 16 through June 2, then A&P 1 in a 6 week summer 1 semester starting May 21 through July 2, then A&P 2 and life span in a 6 week summer 2 semester starting July 11 through august 10 ...phewwwwwww hope i can handle all that. It will be really tough i know, but i am trying to get into nursing in the fall.
Hello, I'm Sorta New here.....
This Summer I'm taking:
Microbiology Lecture and Lab
Online Sociology
Fall I'm taking:
A&P 1, Lecture and Lab
Sociology of Marriage and Family
Algebra
Pottery 1, (don't need this one but thought it would be a fun class)
I still haven't decided on which degree yet, I'm applying to both the Associates and Bachelors programs.
I will have all my pre-req's for the Associates complete by Spring 06 and I should have all the additional pre-req's required for BSN transfer done by Summer 06 (will apply in December for both). Hopefully I will be accepted to one of the programs and will then start Fall 06 clinicals.
Good Luck to everyone!:)
I am taking 3 classes this Summer....
Speech - 2 wk class, so it will be over with quickly.
A & P II - full semester
Psychology - online
Continuing on course for Fall 06 acceptance, since I didn't score enough Biology points to get in this year. I am working full time and will have 3 academic classes left after the Summer semester.
Summer:
A&P I with Lab
Adolescent Psych
Working Part-Time at "Tar-jay"--I'm going to try and drop hours a bit though
Volunteering at hospital
Volunteering with Humane Society
Fall:
A&P II with Lab
Intro to Organic Chem
POSSIBLY Nutrition, if I can fool the Nursing School into letting me in the class
Edit: Life-Span Psych, if I can convince the Dean that I've spent enough $$ at the uni to let me take this non-major Psych class that I need for pre-req instead of both that AND the psych major version!!
Educational Psych
Business Psych
Non-Major's Guitar (hey, I need a little fun! )
Working Part-Time
Volunteering at Hospital
Volunteering at Hospice (possibly)
Volunteering with Humane Society

I'm starting MSN in September, so I'm finishing up Nutrition and Chem II right now. I'll have June, July and August off. Just have to take a CPR for Allied Health employees and I'm done. Can't wait to take long weekends and ride my bike around the Northwest.
I volunteered at a hospital ER and it was great! You'll see much more excitement in summertime - get ready for drunk people lighting fireworks and injuring themselves :rotfl:
