Summer/Fall 05-what are you doing?

Published

Just curious as to what everyone is taking. I am pretty much done with my prereqs-did all my science classes (except Chem) in one year with a 3.2 science GPA! I am trying to start nursing school in the spring (I still have to apply) and the only classes I need is Chem I and Ethics. So all the other classes are just ones I thought looked interesting.

Summer:

Chem I at a college in my hometown (not my usual school)

volunteering at the hospital

working (need to find a job)

maybe volunteering at a disabled children's center

finishing an online class I need for nursing school

planning my wedding (its in January, but I am doing everything this summer since I am not in town where the wedding will be held in the Fall)

Fall:

Ethics (required)

Issues in Parenting (a 400 level class)

Developmental Psychopathology (a.k.a. abnormal child psych) (a 500 level)

Aerobic Kickboxing (hi-ya!!!)

physiology lab (for now-I might drop it sense i don't need it for the school I am applying for in the Spring) (I took Anatomy and Phys. seperately-only Anatomy lab is required)

volunteering at the hospital

planning the rest of my wedding

I'm a couple of weeks shy of finishing my last prereq. This summer (maymester/summer 1) I am taking Microbiology, and in summer 2, I'm taking A&P 2.

Fall '05, I may take nutrition online, or just take it easy for a while. If things go as planned, I'll start nursing school in Jan '06.

I am taking my last prereqs ap2 and microbio right now (spring quarter) I just got accepted to a direct entry MN program so i just started that too...they are at two different schools so for spring quarter i go to both schools and then this summer i have to take ap3 at the same time as I start my actual hospital clinicals....itll all be worth it next August!

Specializes in NICU.

I'm taking Bio-Organic Chem and lab :o, Film (required for Gen Ed and it sounded a heckuva lot easier than welding), and Stats. I'm actually taking classes from two different schools, so they overlap kind of. I wanted to take Micro lab, figuring it wouldn't require much time, but I forgot to turn in my papers early enough .

I start NS in August (yippee), but I think I'll have enough to occupy myself this summer.

Hello

I am taking the summer semester off!!!!!!! The weather turned nice here now and finding it tough to finish off the Dev. Psychology class that I am in now.

In the fall I am taking Anatomy, Humanities, and Communications. That only leaves my physiology left to take and I am in the program.

Yikes--it sounds like you've got really hard classes . I have to take Stats at the University because at the CC I would have to take Algebra II first and I don't want to take the time (after talking to math teachers, apparently Stats doesn't use much of Algebra II, but it is a prereq ).

I end up taking my books, flashcards, etc. everywhere I go. That way, I can study during lunch and breaks during classes. I say no to everything that isn't family or school. I study all the time--except I make sure I do something that I enjoy at least a couple of times a week that has *nothing* to do with school. Usually a movie, running or hiking.

Oh. . . and don't get behind :rotfl:. Yeah, I know, easier said than done!

Let me know how things are going. . . at least with so much to do the summer is bound to fly by. I'm really lousy at the classes I'm taking, so I'm really worried myself, but I have to do it, so here goes. . .

Summer- A+P 2

Fall- Micro

Then I am done. My application will go in Sept for Spring 2006 and my fingers will be crossed and then waiting will begin:)

I am taking this summer off! I can't wait....hot weather, taking the boat out at least twice a week, cookouts, I cannot WAIT for the summer! I'm working at a car dealership this summer fulltime. This fall I'm taking A&P1, Micro, and an aging class. Hopefully I'll get in for Spring 2006 nursing school!

Summer - Algebra and A&P II

Fall - Microbiology, Health, and Physical Education.

I will be working part-time as I am doing now. Maybe I will take a CPR class. I applied for Fall 2005 but never heard anything from the school. If nothing happens till August, I will just apply again for the Spring 2006. :uhoh21:

5 week med term class (9-1:30 2 days a week)

10 weeks a&p for health sciences (6 hrs lab/6 hrs lecture each week)

and a student orientation class that is required (4 2 hr classes)

fall:
