To answer my own question:
I'm taking 4 courses this summer (8 week semester)
Anatomy - 4 days a week 8 AM - 11 AM
Psychology - 2 days a week 12 PM - 4 PM
Healthy Lifestyles - 1 day a week - 8 AM - 4 PM
Phlebotomy - 2 days a week - 4 PM to 7 PM
I was originally going to take only 3 courses, but I want to get the extra points on my nursing application by finishing my phlebotomy certification. Plus I think the venipuncture experience will be useful before I start clinicals.
I'll be applying to nursing school in January...hopefully will start Fall 2013!
This is not my first time taking Anatomy & Psychology. My previous credits are too old for the school to accept, so I'm being required to re-take them, even though I got an A on them 20 years ago.
Can't WAIT for school to start! I want to get going!!!!
I will be taking College Algebra and Advanced Human Physiology. I have already applied to the nursing program. If I get in, I have to pass the math class to be able to start the program in the fall.
The Physiology class is 3 days a week 9:00am -12:00pm and the math class is 2 days a week 12:30pm-3:20pm. They both last for 8 weeks.
Hi. I am taking Anatomy this summer. It's Monday and Wednesday night from 6-9:40PM. I am also taking English II on line. I am nervous about taking Anatomy in such a short time over the summer. Maybe we can share study tips on here... :)
That would be great! I've been doing some online preparation in advance of starting Anatomy. There's a great online resource for A&P that I highly recommend. It covers Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry & Medical Terminology. Great site!
I've already registered for summer. Anatomy & Physiology II, Anatomy & Physiology II Lab and Healthcare Communications. A&P II & Lab total 4 days/week, 8:30am-11:20am and Healthcare Communications is an online course. Summer mini-mester is 8 weeks. Although A&P II & Lab are lock-step courses (if you drop one, you drop both), you have to register for them separately. Weird. It's my first time taking all three classes.
Thank goodness my mother volunteered to drive up and help out -- she'll be taking care of my kids and my house while I'm busting my rear in school.
My plan is to follow that with Intro to Microbiology, Intro to Microbiology Lab and Human Development in the Fall with plans to apply for entry in the Fall 2013 nursing program.
I am taking Intro to Chemistry w/lab and Nutrition in a 10 week summer course. Chem is 2 nights a week, 3-4 hours, Nutrition will be online.
When I first started my prereqs, I was hoping to take a CNA class and work as a nurse's aide thru nursing school. I was not able to do that because of scheduling conflicts, so I am applying to an evening/weekend program at another school and keeping my day job. The other school won't accept my Biochemistry credits and they want a lab component, so that's what I'm going to do.
I'll still have Microbiology for fall (and maybe Stats to get it out of the way), then I hope to start the nursing courses next Spring!

OK, since enrollment for Summer 2012 is close to starting, I figured I'd get the ball rolling for those of us who are taking courses this summer.
What courses are you taking? Is this your first time taking the class? When will you apply for nursing school?
Good luck to you all and let's keep each other updated on our summer classes in this thread
