  1. Yes. I applied for the med/surg and emergency. Which did you apply for?
  2. Has anyone heard back for the Aug 2014 GEMS Program?
  3. I have a phone interview for this externship next week. Has anyone done it? How were the interview questions?
  4. I am in NY and Cayuga community college offers online a&P 1 and 2 with labs online. i haven't taken them myself (i took other classes) but my other classmates have and they thought it was great. The teachers were very helpful and prompt in answering questions. I'm in NYC and this school is upstate and hours away so it's not in my neighborhood but I loved my courses. (Took ethics and statistics) Out of state cost is double the tuition so about 1400 for ap2 (which includes the fees) You can do it this summer in about a month. Transcripts are free. 5. Thank you for your info.. quick question.. were you able to take organic biochemistry and pathophysiology with your upper level nursing classes or did you have to complete them before? Did you take and graduate subsitutes and if so how were they? is the entire program online or do you have to go in at any point? I have most of the pre-reqs except for those 2 and plan to do full time.
  6. Does anyone know how long the RN-bsn program is for Newark? (couldn't find it anywhere on the site) Also, are they generous with financial aid? I am a NY resident and was just accepted. I applied to a few and this was my top choice but I'm trying to weigh pros/cons so this is one of my concerns...
  7. Thank you all for your responses. I have taken EKG in class so I am familiar with some of the basic concepts.
  8. I will graduate from nursing school this May and the associated hospital offers EKG, ACLS, and PALS certification at a discount. (about $75-100 less) Should I pay to have these certifications under my belt and on my resume? Would they help when looking for a RN job as a new grad? Or, should I wait until I land my first job as most places will pay for these certifications? Also for those who obtained them beforehand, were they helpful?
  9. This book is different from the med surg book they req'd us to purchase last year. I don't think it makes much of a difference as people used older versions of our book but you can always double check with the professor.
  10. You don't need any of the PDA apps. You will never use it. If you need to look something up, google it. Trust me, our professors do that exact same thing in class. Professors don't mind if you bring your laptop/macbook.
  11. Supposedly this program is suppose to start the fall of 2014 but they haven't given us much details.
  12. Hello, so as far as the book list you need 1 2 3 and 8 the others are not needed right now. Make sure you keep up on the math calculations after you take it online because they will throw math questions on other tests.
  13. That 3 times a week schedule is for summer classes only. It will be on Fri 9-12 in the fall. Once you pass 1st year, you have the option of summer or fall pharm class.
