I just started orientation as a sub nurse, and the other nurses go by Miss or Mrs ::last name::.
I'm pretty young (early 20's) and my last name can be kind of hard to pronounce. I was thinking of just telling the students to just call me by my first name or Miss ::first name:: if they want to/have to use a formal title.
I'm not really big on formalities, the way I see it is that we're all people here. No need to call me Mrs or Miss. However I do realize this may not go over well in a structured school environment.
what do your students call you? Should I just go with what everyone else goes by? I feel like it would be strange having high schoolers call me miss :last name:: when I'm not that much older than them..

My fiancé calls me Miss Porter. When taught dance and worked with children I was Miss Shawnee. Even to other children I know those families would just refer to me as Miss Shawnee. Go with your nickname or first name with Miss in front. Simple and still respectful.

Several different things. The kindergartners just call me nurse (some call me doctor, lol), while the older elementary call me Mrs. *lastname*. However this is a small town and I have 3 kids in the school, so there is a large group of kids that know me well as they are friends of my kids and they call me by my first name and I'm fine with that too. They aren't being disrespectful in any way, they just grew up calling me by name.
Yes, me too.

I go by Mrs. Last name. I feel I deserve the same respect as the teachers.
Oh, they respect me.
Just half of them "know" me.
I'm just not really keen on being called Miss :lastname: for some reason... I guess it just makes me feel old? haha. I have a friend thats my age and a teacher and I told her this and shes like "but it's so cute!" lol.
everyone deserves respect regardless of whether you're a student, teacher, nurse, janitor, or secretary. I personally never equated calling someone Mr/Miss/Mrs :lastname: as a sign of respect so to speak. I always just did it because it was something I was taught to do.. I rather show someone I respect them by the way I treat them

Nurse_____(First name) as in "nurse Betty" would work.
If your first name is too long, Go by the first initial in your last name as in "Nurse T."
I personally feel the Mrs./Mr designation is too formal and does not designate you as the nurse.
The 8th grade girls call me Nurse F.
As in "Nurse F what's UP???!"
Complete with grandiose had gestures.

"The nurse" yes, I think that we are sometimes the only ones in the school referred to by title. It bugs me when teachers do this.
NURSE you have a CUSTOMER!!!
