Student Uniforms - What are yours like?

Published

So, I've just ordered my uniform for the coming fall. I will be starting my first semester of nursing school! I am so excited. I am anxious to see what the uniforms are like in person. We had to order ours from Flagstaff uniforms. Anyone else get theirs from this company? They are the nursing uniforms and we had to order them in white with our school patches sewn on the sides. The scrub top zips up which I think will be very convenient. I don't know who thought of the white uniforms though. I think that is the dumbest thing ever.

What are your student uniforms like and what color?

Ours are ALL white, scrubs and lab coat, with our school logo embroidered on one sleeve to be worn to clinicals. Shoes are all white, completely leather. We have light blue and white polos to wear to lab days. I'll be keeping my Tide Pen handy :)

Great idea on getting a Tide pen. We have all white tops and bottoms and a lab coat. We can wear whatever we want to on campus labs but we have to wear the lab coat over it. That isn't too bad... :D

Our school lets us wear any brand we want, as long as we're in royal blue (top to bottom). We have to have all white, "leather type" sneakers. On the top, the name badge (we wear it to class, lab, and clinical) goes on the upper left chest, and the school patch goes on the upper right chest.

We can wear either a white or blue scrub jacket (no "labcoats"), but we must have the school patch on that as well, or we can wear a long-sleeved white shirt underneath for warmth.

Oh, and students with long hair have to have it up, no jewelry except for a smooth wedding band and watch (that includes earrings, necklaces, etc.), light make-up, no perfume, and short, clean nails.

Oh, and I almost forgot, we have to have white socks, too!

It's pretty crazy that we have this many restrictions, but it is what it is!

I'm in NY and just ordered mine for the fall (well next week lol). We have to wear Navy Cherokee scrubs in classroom and white scrubs for clinicals w/white lab coat. With the school patch sewn on the sleeve. White shoes, NO clogs.

I don't like the elastic waist pants but oh well. :(

White top with school logo and indigo (dark blue) pants (from walmart!) didn't want to fork out 20 bucks at the school when it is cheaper at walmart.

Ours is a burgundy button up heavy scrub material shirt with the school's name & "nursing program" embroidered on the front. We have to buy them at the bookstore and they're $25 :icon_roll White scrub pants, doesn't matter the brand. white socks, white shoes, white underwear. They're really picky about the shoes - can't be clog-style, can't look like sneakers.

We just started our peds rotation and they told us we can wear brightly colored scrubs just for peds. I'm tempted to go out and buy some but dunno if it's worth it for just 7 weeks

Ours are Dickie, kind of a weird blueish-gray. Paired with the white lab coats, they make me look frumpy IMHO.

I wish we could have royal blue or something. I'm a bubbly person and gray is very out of place. =/ But c'est la vie...Only 18 months to go =D

Our bottoms are elastic waistband and I'm probably going to have to hem the legs.

We had a choice between a unisex top and an empire waist top. I really like the empire waist one and got it. =)

The school badge goes on our left shoulders of the scrub and lab coat

Our uniforms are navy scrub pants and a very particular white top with the School of Nursing logo embroidered in navy on the left breast. Black, brown, navy, or white approved shoes (no laces and must have backs). We have a white labcoat with the same embroidery on it. Also a name badge with photo id.

All tattoos have to be covered- if they show through your shirt you have to cover it with bandaids or medical tape. Same rules about wedding rings and watches that someone else stated above. One pair of earrings are allowed- studs or

I'm so thankful that I don't have to wear white pants!!!

For lpn school, it was khaki top and bottom scrubs, w/ a navy scrub jacket. Top and jacket w/ the school patch. White shoes and socks.

Convenient cuz these were the colors they wear at my first nursing job, so I was set. :yelclap:

the uniforms I had were the color of smurfs. enough said lol

Just graduated! And I will never wear all white again! I guess you know what ours were like, LOL! We could wear whatever brand, style, etc that we wanted to, as long as it was all white. Which it never stayed. The dingy's take over pretty damn quickly it seems. And feces and blood really pop against that white background. Shoes had to be white too, I ALWAYS buy nursing shoes (I've worked in healthcare for 20+ years). White lab jacket if we wanted it, most of us just layered white long-sleeve T's under our scrub top

Those "restrictions" are in place because if they don't spell it out, someone will toe the line and then cross it. Guaranteed.
