NCLEX- What to wear?
For the record - at least as i experienced today -sweaters are allowed. I would assume sweatshirts as well. If they're not on your body they have to be on the back of the chair. :-)

Pearson Scheduling/ATT
I did it. :-) I was originally scheduled for 6/4 but rescheduled for tomorrow (5/31). I wondered if they hold back some appointments and open them up as the dates get closer. Either that or a bunch of people rescheduled! Basically I just took the soonest appointment available and kept checking back. The first time I checked back, next available was 6/17. Two days later there were multiple appointments 5/31 - 6/2.

Pearson Scheduling/ATT
When I got my att, the soonest available test date was 2.5 weeks out. I took it and then checked back every few days to see if there were cancellations. There were. I rescheduled. :-)

NCLEX- What to wear?
I realize this might sound silly... but I'm really wondering what I should wear when I take NCLEX on Saturday. I am always cold in office buildings. I can't concentrate if I'm too hot or cold. Will they allow me to wear a hoodie (without the hood on my head obviously) to test and take it off if I get warm? Thanks! :-)

i need help.please...
60's and 70's in the Kaplan q bank is good. You have plenty of time. Take a deep breath. :) According to our Kaplan rep, the goal for the q bank is to complete at least 90% of the q bank questions with 60% accuracy.

Ob rotation
Indeed!!!! Does she use this doll to teach? Or just have it because she's weird? In regards to OB... My ultimate goal is to be a midwife- so I have to love OB. But I can definitely get where many people would be uncomfortable with it. I would seriously say though that even if you don't enjoy it- learn as much as you can. You never know when you'll get stuck in an elevator with a woman about to deliver. :bby: (I'm mostly kidding.) -cb

Student Uniforms - What are yours like?
Our uniforms are navy scrub pants and a very particular white top with the School of Nursing logo embroidered in navy on the left breast. Black, brown, navy, or white approved shoes (no laces and must have backs). We have a white labcoat with the same embroidery on it. Also a name badge with photo id. All tattoos have to be covered- if they show through your shirt you have to cover it with bandaids or medical tape. Same rules about wedding rings and watches that someone else stated above. One pair of earrings are allowed- studs or I'm so thankful that I don't have to wear white pants!!!

Autism Immunization debate how nurses can help
I so appreciate this post. I'm currently a nursing student- but I'm also mother of two. I have been amazed at the one sidedness of teaching regarding vaccines in nursing school. The risks of vaccinating are either not discussed, or they're dismissed as misinformation. Neither of my children is fully vaccinated according to the recommended American schedule- because I think it's too much for their little systems to handle in such a short span of time. I appreciate someone stepping out of the black or white/ wrong or right mode. It seems that either side of the debate is perfectly willing to fudge facts, exaggerate, or cover up important details in order to make their case. All this does is make it more difficult for parents and, yes, health professionals, to have truly informed consent. I think most of us are really looking for the same bottom line and it's not dollar signs; it's healthy children.

Not used to getting B's...
:yeah:i'm in my first semester of nursing school- and all of my classmates are experiencing the same thing! we were all "a" students in pre-nursing... but now we're finding it difficult to get anything higher than b's. we've jokingly stated that our class motto is "c=rn" and are thinking about making t-shirts. i do totally agree with a poster (possibly on another thread) who said "some instructors' critical thinking questions are, well, questionable if you think too critically about them." there are some questions that you have to guess how "critically" to think. until i develop some nursing test esp... i'm resigned to studying my rear off and doing the best i can! you're definitely not alone- in fact you're in good company! keep on keeping on and don't be too hard on yourself! @%~ ad

Clients? Are they no longer patients?
i was fussing about this earlier this week. i've come to the conclusion that i can handle the term client for people who are coming in for well-visits or perhaps counselling. however, there will always be patients in the icu... and "cancer client" just sounds plain wrong! @%~ ad
