  1. Is there anything that says there must be at least two nurses on a unit? I work somewhere that continuously works us by our self on a unit with a couple unlicensed aids. God forbid a patient should code...gonna be tough working it by myself. Not to mention the fact that this is a locked psych unit...seems like a HUGE safety issue to me!
  2. Rather than ortolani and barlow...I could understand a simple typo on the powerpoint, but to repeatedly call them by the wrong names in lecture is outrageous!
  3. Note the spelling on my powerpoint! Both of them are spelled wrong and the instructor even called them "ortolini" and "bartolini" WHICH ARE INCORRECT! That is what I was getting at...I was not actually looking for info on it!
  4. This was on one of our lecture power points...Bad thing is, the instructor discussed "ortolini" and "bartolini" the whole lecture!!!!
  5. WOW! How long is everyone studying for NCLEX? Sounds like several months! I just graduated last night, am taking the Hurst Review next week & hope to take the NCLEX by the end of the month...Am I rushing it?
  6. Here it is two semesters later, and I have seen a lot during my time as a tech in the ED! Tonight is my graduation from my nursing school and May 23 I start as an RN App in the same ER...Thanks to everyone for the encouraging posts!
  7. I have been using NCLEX 4000 to practice for boards...How similar are these questions to NCLEX questions? Is this good preparation. Also, next week I will be attending a HURST review...How big of a help is this review usually? I know they claim it to be the best thing since sliced bread, but would like to hear from others who have taken it!
  8. I may should have posted this in the student section...if someone has the capability to move it, please do!
  9. Yes, printed or cursive?
  10. Which writing style is correct? or does it even matter?
  11. Thanks for all the help...the ideas were a definite push in the right direction
  12. Why am I having so much trouble with these care plans for peds? It seems like nothing fits! I am having to do a care plan for a 14 month old female with the flu. Everything I come across seems more like adult or geriatric problems. I have come up with... Hyperthermia r/t an infectious process Imbalanced nutrition: less than body requirements r/t decrease in appetite due to illness Sleep deprivation r/t discomfort AEB obstructed nasal passages (really reaching on this one!)
  13. Thank you so much for that...I think I understand it now! That video was great!
  14. So uptake = the neurotransmitter is used and with reuptake= it is destroyed or not used? so reuptake inhibitor = more neurotransmitter to be used by the brain?
