My packet went to the board for this month and was accepted. I am going to commision on Tuesday. Does my total of my student loans that is going to be paid back need to be written in my contract? The recruiter is telling me that information will need to be given to the unit that I am being assigned. Just want to have all the facts before Tuesday. Thanks
Congrats on the 1LT too!! My recruiter thinks I will commission as a 1LT too. Ive probably said that like 2943872834 times though. Sorry if Im repeating myself!!!
If you have your BSN you should be able to. I am not sure how the constrictive credit applied to promotion. Or how soon you get promoted.

I was told I would 'probably' go in as a 1LT because of my years of experience. Apparently everyone gets 1LT after 18 months of time in service automatically. They credit you 6 months towards the promotion for every year youve worked as a nurse (for me that would be 4 years). So that would qualify me for the 1LT. I wont be able to advance to CPT until I get my BSN. Now, again, that is what my recruiter told me and we know they can miss the mark sometimes. So, we shall see....

Well boys and girls... I did it!! I commissioned into the ARNC as a 2LT and in 6mos I will be promoted. Still feeling pretty surreal at this point but proud that I am following in the footsteps of past and present nurses who stepped up to do this job.
Many thanks to the men and women who provided so much information and who also served as a "buddy". Although my family is very supportive of me going into the Army, my co-workers looked at me like I was nuts!! It is comforting to know that I am not the only crazy one in the bunch!! Hooooah!

We need to stay in touch, and all try to go to OBLC in April together. Then we can put a name with the name:typing. I need to find Littlesis, she recently was commissioned and was waiting on her orders.

Thanks everyone. You will be there soon. I don't think it will hit me until I do my first drill. I commissioned as 1st LT.
