Ok I can't believe I am leaving for the CPNE in 11 days:uhoh3: The rational part of me keeps telling myself that I know this stuff and there is nothing to freak out about.....I just finished re-writing my mnemonics and watching Rob's DVD for the 10th time. I plan on practicing all my labs tonight after the kiddos go to sleep and I'm off all day tomorrow so it will be a day of laundry and studying. I just can't get over the feeling that I an not prepared enough. I was unable to take a workshop due to various reasons. I worked 58 hours this past week so I cram in studying when I can, I worked in CCU this past week and I was trying to study in between titrating levophend, dopamine and diprivan on one pt who was trying to extubate himself even though he was restrained and my other pt was new onset AFIB with RVR that I was constantly running strips on and titrating Cardizem gtt. Sorry not trying to whine! The critical elements are nothing hard and in my moments of clarity I feel like I could do it in my sleep but this anxiety is killing me! For anyone that got this far....thanks for letting me vent:lol2:
ignore the typo's my brain is in overdrive:smokin:

Are you taking off any time to relax before the exam? I took off 5 days and that helped me but I know now everyone can do that. I also didn't take a workshop and thought the CPNE is very doable without one especially since you are already in the nurse role. It was a hard exam- no BS about that- it is also worth 8 credits so you can imagine the prep for this exam. It sounds like you are ready- my biggest problem during the CPNE was staying organized and actually looking at my grid and little notes to make sure I did everything. Otherwise, as long as you have the documentation and careplans down, I think you are good to go. Good luck!
Thanks, no no time of before hand. I'm getting to syracuse on the 26th which is the day before of the exam but I work mon-wed the week I leave.

((Hugs to you)). Been there never want to do it again! You will get through it. The anxiety only build up closer to the date. Find a way to calm your nerves. It will be a long stressful weekend.

Good Luck!
Thanks guys! I've been in constant contact with a friend of mine who graduated from EC 2years ago and she has been a huge help. I think the biggest thing is knowing this exam has cost me about $3000. Keep me in your prayers!

Try not to stress about the cost, easier said than done I know, but it is a tax write off!
Keep telling yourself: Cool, Calm, Collected
Best wishes for the CPNE

i feel this way :banghead::banghead: and then i just want to run and hide :sofahider... i too test next week as well and feel like i have the devil sitting on my shoulder saying.."gn yeah right"....
my biggest issue is memorizing the mnemonics for drainage / specimen collection, irrigation and for some damn reason enteral feeding ..whenever i say i special (mnemonic for drainage /specimen collection) instead of thinking about what order i need to do things, all i can think of is that old waynes show where he stands up puts a stupid silly grin on his face ...proving that he is missing a screw or two and say's ... "i special".....ugggg i need cpne therapy....:selfbonk::scrm::grn::wtosts:
