Stony Brook FNP Interview

Published

Hello to all, I just received an email for the FNP interview @ Stony Brook School of Nursing. I am wondering if anyone had the interview and what kind of questions they ask during the interview? I heard it's a group interview, how does it work? Thanks in advance, any information would help, appreciated!!

Hi! Anybody heard anything from the other programs? Have a friend that interviewed for anp before me and hasn't heard anything yet. :/

No I interviewed for both ANP and FNP but only got a response for FNP so far (good enough for me!! [emoji2])

So is it only fnp that they have accepted candidates into? Any idea on psych NP or post masters NPs? I am going in for an interview on 27th. Was wondering if I still stand a chance!

Specializes in Labor and Delivery.

I think it's individual (rolling basis now), so people even in FNP aren't hearing all at once if they're accepted or not. I would assume it's similar in other specialties, but of course don't quote me on any of that. Good luck on the 27th!

Okay, thanks. For some reason I thought I saw threads from last year mentioning telephone interviews for those living out of the area.

Did you get an interview yet? How did it go?

Specializes in BMT, Hematology and Oncology.

Just wondering if anyone has heard back from Admissions recently.

I called last week and they said that the admissions committee is still meeting and acceptances are still being sent out. They couldn't give me anymore information than that.

I interviewed for the pediatric NP program on Feb 2nd. I was expecting a group interview but it ended up being a one-on-one with the director of the program. She was extremely nice and it was a casual conversation. It was about 30 mins long and at the end of the interview she offered me a spot in person, she said official letters would be sent out by the end of the month. I don't know if offering spots in the program during the interview is typical, and to be honest I was pretty surprised (the interview did go very well though). If you haven't received an official letter yet, I wouldn't be discouraged. They told me end of February so it's still a bit early.

Any PMHNP hopefuls get answers yet?

Hi all, I just received my acceptance email from USB:

Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the Family Nurse Practitioner program for the Summer 2016 term. The attached file is your official letter of offer which contains important information.

I am so excited I can barley contain myself!

I applied in October, interviewed in January and was notified today.
