Stony Brook FNP Interview

Published

Hello to all, I just received an email for the FNP interview @ Stony Brook School of Nursing. I am wondering if anyone had the interview and what kind of questions they ask during the interview? I heard it's a group interview, how does it work? Thanks in advance, any information would help, appreciated!!

Yup, just a waiting game now. We just have to hang in there....easier said than done!

I emailed Stony Brook yesterday to follow up on my application and this what she said. "We are in the process of wrapping up reviewing applications, decisions will be sent as soon as possible". Ughhhh couldn't be more vague. We just have to be patient, stay positive and wait :(

I got my acceptance letter for FNP!!! So excited! [emoji2][emoji2] hopefully everyone will be getting there's soon

Congrats to you!!!

I'm in too!!!! í ½í¸„

Congrats to you both!!! When you say you received your letter, was it a letter in the mail or email (I thought I heard them mention it'll be emailed during the interview)?

Congrats to those who've been accepted! I applied Nov 30 for the Pediatric NP program and received an email a few days ago to interview Feb 2. I've never done a academic interview before, just behavioral interviews for jobs. Can anyone elaborate on the interviews (what they asked, how they asked each person if it was a group interview, etc)? Any info at all would be so helpful! Thanks :)

Thanks guys. Decision letters are sent by email @Alikatz and the interviews are pretty straightforward @Sari Its a group usually up to 4 candidates and 2 faculty. They'll ask questions like why you want to be a NP why you chose Stony Brook what your goal is after graduation strengths weaknesses accomplishments etc. The atmosphere is pretty laid-back they're definitely not trying to trick you with any of the questions, more like getting to know you. And they take turns so that each person has a chance to answer first middle and last. For my ANP interview I was the only person scheduled at the session time I selected so it was a solo interview. FNP was a group of 3 both times (I interviewed last year also but wasn't accepted) Hope this helps, good luck!

I got in too! I woke up around 430p (night shift RN) to find the email I've been waiting for since November in my inbox! Yay! So excited! Congratulations to all that got in! Can't wait to meet you at orientation!!! I am on Cloud 9!

Congrats tourner!!! Look forward to meeting you as well.
