Stony Brook BSN - Summer/Fall 2011 Applicants

ok, it's never too early to start a thread about applying for 2011 ... :D ... which i am most definitely doing even though i am still waitlisted for 2010. i just won't be able to attend this year if i get in ... :(

but that's ok! i'll be done with all my prereqs and have time to write a better application (if in fact that is at all possible, you know?).

anyone else applying to stony brook for summer 2011?

lisa_toronto- I'm applying to both programs. The school says its perfectly fine to use the same recommendations and essay. That was one of the questions addressed at the info session. There's really no reason to change them unless you think you can make the essay/recommendations better some how. Are you applying to both programs?

Hello, I've been lurking and thought I would register and say hello. This is my first round of apps. I couldn't sleep last night, I don't know how I will manage to wait until January! Thanks for all the helpful information, at least I know when to expect to hear back!

hmm so i just check my solar (yes.. again...) and all the documents are received!! im sooo relieved!! :)

okayyy im gonna stop checking SOLAR sooo muchh cuz i think i need a life! lol im gonna try to cut it down to once every other day? is that good enough? :p

PEOPLE!! try not to stress cuz we are here for each other!!! ;)

LOL...Paco you're too much!! What email link??? Also, did you apply to both programs? If so, did you submit the same recommendations and same essay?

If you look at the top of my post do you see little icons right below my name somewhere? Like a little envelope? That's the email link. I only applied to the accelerated program. That was stressful enough! :)

I just checked and all my transcripts show as received too! Except ONE of them shows as unofficial :mad: ... crap! That one school has given me problems! I need to call them again!!! They are the ones that have my chemistry grades.

Ahh there always one school that makes you wanna burn them down! well i only needed one transcript and i gave it to them in person... even tho is says received on 11/3/2010 which is not true... = =" but yea my other one was from stony brook so they just pull it out for me, i didnt have to request :D

definitely call them up and rushh them!!! chem is a major prereq!! good luckk :)

dr3amygirl- im trying to control my SOLAR checking lol. It shows everything as received except for my recommendations which I know are all in. It also says my transcripts were received on the 11/3 which is impossible. I know everything is there but I will be happy when it actually says everything is there!

I'm new to this post and have begun the obsession with SOLAR which is stating that none of my transcripts or letters of recommendations have been received. I will try and be patient and wait a week to actually call and follow-up. I'd hate for my application to be rejected because of a transcript not being received.

As of now...the only back-up plan I have if I don't get accepted is to apply to SB again next year and also SUNY downstate.
