Hi everyone,
I would like to discuss with other students admitted into the Stony Brook accelerated BSN, starting summer 2010.
I am curious to meet my future classmates!

I got my acceptance letter a week ago. It was my first choice and I was freaking out about it throughout the fall. The time has come to look for housing.
You think most people are going to be living off campus?
Congratulations NickSBU!
I will probably not live on campus as they do not accept pets and I have 2 cats... So I will look for apartments in the area. I have no idea whether other people will live on campus or not.

Hello everyone! I was accepted too and I am thrilled! Just paid my deposit last week... now I feel like it is a big hurry up and wait game!! Trying to run through my checklist :)
I leave a half hour from school, so I will be commuting

Just curious what was your grades like for the prerequisite courses and overall GPA in bachelor's degree? I will be applying for next year.
Thanks.

Hi future classmates--
My name is Jen and I live 15 mins. away from SB so I too will be commuting.
Has any heard anything regarding the full tuition scholarships?

Hey everyone! My name is Frankie and I will be starting the accelerated program in June too! I'm definitely commuting (annoyingly) from June through the end of September because my current lease was prepaid and it is up in September. However, I may decide to dorm if the commute is horrid. I live in Astoria, which could take as much as an hour and a half by car, or by train.
My parents own a house in East Elmhurst, which is just as far from Stony, but if I had roommates that car pooled I could totally take on two roomies who would be interested in being close to the big apple and live on one of the floors of my parents house and pay relatively cheap rent?
Anyway, I am REALLY curious about our schedule. I call the nursing school often and they NEVER answer. I really need to know what our routine will be like so I can get a job lined up, and know what time my commuting hours will be.
If anyone has helpful information for me, please spread the knowledge!
Can't wait to meet you all :)
Frankie

Hi everybody,
I will be starting in June as well. I prefer to live off campus and I was wondering if anybody is interested in sharing an apartment.

Since I was an alternate up until a month and a half ago... I'm behind the game. Did you guys already get financial aid packets? How do I apply for summer aid? I filled out my FAFSA, but my SOLAR doesn't give me indication that I will get aid. I'm lost... I'm afraid I won't have loans/grants/scholarship opportunities. Maybe I should call the school...
Also, for those looking for housing off campus, how's that going for you guys? I'm flying into town June 18th & hope to score a place w/in two weeks (wishful thinking... pretty much going on craigslist & looking at every possible place). I have family in New Jersey & will commute until a decent place takes me in. Are people thinking of getting a place together?
Mas_B, FrankieFresh, & FL4763 ... did you figure out your housing situation? Looks like we're all in the same boat... maybe some/all of us can be roomies? Just a thought...
No I haven't found anything yet!! I just found this website which is for people living off campus: http://och.fsa.sunysb.edu/index.php
I prefer to have roommates from our program. So if anybody is interested let me know. I live in Manhattan, if anybody is around maybe we can meet up for coffee!
